As a recent player, this is my first time playing with a modded map, and I'm really loving it. I always thought West Point was boring because of its lack of commercial buildings outside of the main street, and it absolutely solves that ! I've also been trying to set up a base in every GigaMart in the game, and this map adds one... although really not easy to base in considering all the windows XD Thanks for porting this map, and thanks to ww2commander (who has a street after their name !) for creating it in the first place. I hope other towns get B42-compatible expansions in the future !

@glermz, Thank you for the report. I will investigate the possible cause, but based on what you’ve described, I suspect that in B42, the behavior of zombie-type zones has changed. This map was one of the first to be converted, so I will review the updated workflow.

Hey Bucho, thanks in advance for this porting. Westpoint Expansion is probably my favorite map as I love to start in Westpoint.

With this said, currently the spawns are indeed weird(b42) I'm playing with 5x Pop at peak, and without ever loading the Wespoint Expansion Cells or being there for the first month, the pop is on the default level. Besides the INSIDE of the hospital, other zones didn't grew in population.

Going into debug mode showed me target zombies of 3k per cell but only 400-700 were in the cells, meanwhile in the rest of the map all cells were maxed out. Hopefully you find what is causing this issue, if not no worries still.

Spawns are busted for me. Didn't work in B41, still doesn't work in B42. Vanilla downtown completely empty & giant clusters of zombies spawning in the middle of the woods near ranger station and random back roads.

I wouldn't suspect that it's the game's bug, because, as I said, I ran the game without any mods, and the bug was not present. Then I also ran the game with all my mods safe for this one, and the bug still didn't occur. It was only when I activated this mod again that the bug reappeared.

Furthermore I also ran the game with all mods including this one, and I started in Mauldraugh and the bug did not seem to happen over there.

So yeah, I did my testing :D

I am honestly not sure, if it happens again ill try, but its been very inconsistent, some places ive based at had it happen, others never had the issue. seems to be very inconsistent between games as well, as the same base location has had it happen and not had it happen.

@nicebagdad: It would be great if you could give me a step-by-step guide on how to reproduce the bug so I know where to start. Otherwise, as I said before, I won't be able to sit down and look at it until next week.
I've already identified the Zeds, lights, and buildings bug and can reproduce it. I know that when that no longer happens, the bug will be fixed. But in your case, I need more precision. It might be linked to the other bug, but just in case, if you could do it, it would be very helpful.

ive had it happen outside of westpoint as well, so I kinda suspect its a game bug, but not sure.

@pimatstudio, @nicebagdad: Thanks for the report. I think it's because some areas are collapsing with those on the Westpoint map. We'd previously noticed this with another player, and it seems to be linked to zombie respawns in buildings. Now, there are buildings in those areas, but the game has internally defined that they don't (because in that portion of the original Westpoint, there aren't any, or they're of a different type). I'll check it out as soon as I can, probably next week.
Most common symptom: entering the game and finding the lights off and zombies where the building or area had previously been cleared.

Hello, has anyone else had encountered a bug (at least I guess it's a bug) where any time I load my game (and I play in West Point) the lights in my base are turned off even though they were on when I'd quit the game, and a random number of zeds are inside the building even though there were none when I quit?

I halve-troubleshoot all the mods I'm running, and it seems that this mod is the culprit.

Gotta say the expansion is very good indeed. The more I'm disappointed with this bug :(

@jborg, the distribution loot table changed with b42, maybe a previous roomdef is not the same now. Noted for check it. Thanks for the report

hey, man, just to let you know, the loot in the farming store needs a check. the wooden boxes are fine, but the counters that are in the center of the main room are spawning generic office material, like sheet of papers, pens, etc.

oh good point, I haven't really explore Louisville yet due to the vast amount of zombies. I have found procedural basements in all other vanilla places though. (IE; Echo creek, Muldraugh, Westpoint, etc.)

@nicebagdad, Even in Louisville, I haven't been able to see a procedural basement yet. The only ones I've seen are the static ones at the beginning of the game. In debug mode, you can go to the map and choose "Basements" in the options, and you'll see that there's nothing generated in all of Louisville, but there are in the new parts of the map and in locations that have had their aesthetics changed. I'm still investigating this.

Am I right in assuming that this expansion can not spawn any underground locations? If it was a direct port I can imagine that would be the case, just noticed that I haven't found anything underground after playing on it for a while.

Bug: Salt Ridge Fire station did NOT spawn any fire axes or fireman apparel. Loot tables for first aid and food works fine. Likely the metal lockers and storage racks have incorrect loot tables.

It is so awesome to see these older maps given a second chance at life in B42.
If there is any old map I'd love to see you bring into the new build, it'd be South Muldraugh. It was my favorite map for the longest time, but it has been abandoned for eons.

Perhaps there's another mod causing that behavior. Maybe try putting Westpoint Expansion at the end on the load order mods.

@Dr. Quackers M.D.: I've experienced those infinite black screens without text when trying to play maps that lack street or minimap files. This started happening after the last 42.10 update. Try going to the maps folder of the mods you suspect and check for the streets.xml, pyramid.zip, and forest-pyramid.zip files. If they're missing, try disabling that mod and see if the game loads.

I can get the "this is how you died" part of the loading screen it just gives me a black screen when i try to start in west point or west point expanded I am wondering if project Indiana and this have a conflict somewhere. or maybe its west point expansion fault im not sure. I know i can start a new game anywhere else echeo Louisville rosewood and modded toens like coalfield just fine but choosing westpoint or west point expnsion leads to an endless black screen when starting new. yes i have the mod tool for check map conflicts and none are showing

@yannisskacel, NO, if you've already been in the area, use the b42chunkcleaner by selecting the entire area that the mod occupies

Thanks for updating this map, it has been busted for years and getting the map to reflect the buildings was really hit or miss. Really happy to see my favorite map mod getting a proper update for the modern version of this game.

hi there, i have a game now and im in muldragh. do i still need to delete the chunks if ive never even been close to westpoint. or can i just add it and head over. thank youuuuu

As BuchoJefe said when you update to 42.10 it will make the map disappear. I found playing , saving , shut down and a restart helped. I also noticed 42.10 seemed to randomly wipe the vehicles from the Westpoint extened area as well. I did a chunk reset and this seem to restore vehicles.
