if you want to add some zest, then instead of playing with a font, you can try to do something similar to the mentioned ATS mod, but for example, not a flag, but a large country name in English and a little lower in a smaller font in the native language of the country, or if you are Japanese, you can reflect this by making the country name in your language at the bottom, to interfere with ordinary players It's obviously not going to happen, but you're going to add something of yourself

I don't like the font of the country name map, the elongated fonts are kind of strange, I don't know where they will look good at all. I would also like to point out that it is better to make the names of the countries larger, because it is difficult to see. I understand that you are doing this so that the name is not blocked by roads, and it's great when there is such an opportunity, but Switzerland has become unreadable. And as for the font, I actually liked which was earlier, and I also use the North America Background Map in ATS, there's a good font and the state flag next to it, but sometimes the name gets lost a lot, for example in Oklahoma, but otherwise, even partially blocked roads, the large letters are perfectly readable. Names are needed when you are at a distance to understand where a country is, and small ones are readable only when you get closer

new font is better, thanks. choose something more basic, without frills like a strange shape and less greasy. the game is as simple as possible and its fonts are calm, it gets out a little

I think it's kinda off seeing a "war" (COD) font in a relaxing truck game 🫠 (haha), I really do hope you find another one that is better if you can't use the original one anymore 😅

@syarkkya I too am struggling with font selection and am searching for a font that suits the map. If you have any recommendations for free, copyright-free fonts, I would be most grateful if you could share them. While I cannot promise adoption, I would certainly like to consider them.

Be it for vanilla or map modded, I can't play the game without this anymore. This map mod is simply wonderful.So much so that I actually have restricted the map mods I use, only so I can use your mod. I am really glad you included a bit of Africa too, even if not coloured, which let me use the Eurafrica mod.
