Well, that’s because these ones come from an arctic environment, and I guess the cold ambience has something to do with them being more skinny.

they aren't, this model makes them skinnier i think. the retail model is more muscular

This only replaces the model of both stripped_soldier.mdl & soldier_bed.mdl, it does not have anything to do with your hud.

Probably it's another mod, or its just another steam workshop shenanigans

when i installed this with condensed animated hud on it just said Q as the crosshair
