I bought and played Shogun 2 so much since it came out, decades ago..
and i JUST discovered this mod.. wtf..
I wish i had known this existed before.. Chosokabe now actually look so badass! and many other clans! Now i want to start playthroughs with a bunch of different factions.. Im so late.

why is it that when i change the RGB stats in PFM nothing happens in game. To prove i wasnt going mad i set every value in Shimazu to 0 across the board and in game still have the same armour and clothes colour, WTF lol, what the hell is telling the game to give the these colours when i have changed the only values that control this feature.

Are the General balloons supposed to be just one colour

Dear Red Warlord, I really appreciate your mod, it makes the game so much better. However, being a Mac user, I cannot use Pack file Manager as it is an exe file. I like your screenshots when Oda has yellow colour scheme, Chosokabe has sand green and Shimazu has dark green scheme. In my game Oda and Chosokabe are in black uniforms and Shimazu has very light green. The rest of the clans look gorgeous. I don't know whether you can revert the current colours back to the ones in this mod screenshots or re-upload the old version.I would be forever grateful if you could help. Thank you very much for the great mod.

The last time I worked on this mod was 5 years ago, so I'm not 100% sure. I think the primary colour is for the helmets, cuirasses and armour plates. I wanted those to be similar. The other colours show up on bits of the armour and on the clothing. This was the setup I preferred. It made sense to me that armours would be similar, since many would have been captured from enemies and reused.

I've opened the pack file and I see that you had changed all the primary clan colours to black...

I don't know coding either. All you need to do here is modify some RGB values in a table, no coding required.

just wondering as ruby is my birth colour i would like Date or Chosokabe as red. can this be done? i would greatly apreciate it. it sounds simple to me but i dont know coding.

If you aren't getting the colours you want, you can use the Pack File Manager to edit them.

Just a Question, the red is missing on the usegi and other clans armor, anything that was meant to be red turns out white/grey. Is there anything I can do?

It works for all Total War games from Empire Total War onwards. You can find plenty of tutorials for how to use this tool on YouTube.

It should work on Multiplayer.

I can't make a new mod for everyone's individual favourite colours. It's really easy to edit this mod, all you need is Pack File Manager. With that, you can open the mod pack and input the RGB colour values for any faction on the list.

When I say that I tweaked the colours, that means I changed and updated the mod.

I may have tweeked the colours a bit over time, the main point of this mod is to reduce the bling colours. The screenshots are a bit old, I will update them next time I use this mod.

Ok it works fine but on some of the clans it doesn't work. Like the Chosokabe have this weird grayish-purple color and the Mori still have black armor. Can anyone help?

yes, as long as particular units don't have a unique colour. This mod is for all units which don't have a single automatic colour scheme (eg. Ronin units are only ever orange and blue)
