It seems mat_specular affects envmap. Mat_phong 0 will disable the shine on models

The crystal's material's not broken, I just made it a little less transparent. There are some angles under the bridge where the envmap seems to overpower, but it's fine. Something about mountains and molehills.

Some of the weapons still have shiny textures on them, which makes it hard to see the diffuse texture at all, and the gravity gun's xen crystal material seems to be broken as well I recommend tweaking it more.

Coast levels? Do you mean Highway 17 levels, Lost Coast levels? Which map specifically? What do you mean still reflected? Is it the envmaps are too high on the weapons, are they too low, are they not showing up at all? I'm not a mind reader and acting like I am and vaguely saying "x thing is broken" gets nothing fixed

heya! is it okay if i make an alt version of this mod with textures of less quality and other stuff? just a little personal nitpick that i would like to use instead of really high quality stuff my computer can't handle

I did change some values in the materials, but the main focus is the textures. Sorry if it looks too shiny, I just tried to take advantage of the phong system as best I understand it

Lucky for you, I did just revert the materials last night because of a bug people were experiencing with the AR2. You should be able to reinstall the item

Did you get rid of the USP's specular property or am I experiencing a bug? It's looks more like the default pistol now. Also would you consider reverting the change to the .357? I think the texture detail was more apparent before it was very shiny.

Moody i'm currently working on a port of the HEV suit hands from RTX over to HL2VR using your port as a base, i've modified the mesh and such but i have no clue about how to compile models and such and was wondering if you'd be down to help me

hey, you should look into properly converting these materials for source; they have a lot of potential to look real pretty!
