@EVIL_SUPRESOR , I left that bug on purpose, so people can try to exploit it when there's a minigun. Minigun is rare enough to be found in a map, so I just ignore this bug for now.

Another bug on underbarrel weapons: when using stationary machine guns, if the player was holding a script weapon with an underbarrel grenade launcher, then shots from the stationary gun also accumulate grenades.

@vict00d , I'm not familiar enough with hex editing, so I'm sorry that I can't help. But there's another trick to make scar use m16 skin, by using "weapon_rifle_desert.txt" weapon script. All you need to do is making a copy of "weapon_rifle.txt" & then renaming it to "weapon_rifle_desert.txt". Then just copy-paste the original scar weapon stats, & you'll get a scar that uses m16 skin.
Anyway, you can try to go to "Modding/ Mapping" discussion section & ask for some guides about hex editing there. Probably some modders will show up & give you some tips.

@bacorjohnray , you can try to check some COD MW weapon skin mods, as there are plenty of them on workshop so probably one of them has scar with gl skin.

hmm..any scar with a gl attachment mod somewhere?
