It's a feature I'd like to see because it enables the ability to check the fuel levels in a vehicle without attempting to start it.

I also think that the author of the mod made it too difficult to open, the pin control is very "clumsy" and the tension is poorly perceived, maybe add a color scale for tension (as an option).
I know how to do it in reality :) and it's much easier with your hands than in the game. By the way, locks should have a difficulty = how many cells. And now it's 90% easier to break a lock than to open it with the burglar skill. It's annoying.
But the idea is good and should be balanced.
