@^-^ - Hm interesting. It's definitely something specific to this patch cycle, yeah.

Through testing with Spongie we isolated the error to being with the customiser, specifically when a custom face would get blood applied to it from a firearm impact it'd result in a memory overload. Spongie put out the fix for this a couple of days ago so that should be sorted now, I did some testing and it all appears to be working correctly.

If you are experiencing another issue with all body mods that isn't linked to the customiser, that sounds like something else entirely but it's not something i've managed to repro so far. The only game breaking bug came from those custom faces.

If you get the error again pls snap a screenshot / grab the console dump and drop it in the bug thread or the discord and i'll investigate!

I can confirm the same issue happens on my end as well. When firing a gun, the body model breaks apart and eventually crashes the game. This also occurs with other body-related mods such as VSkin v2.1 and LLTC, so it seems likely that the recent official update introduced some changes to body handling.

@Mafty - Body mods don't load the moment they are enabled, they require a hard restart of the game. Enable the body on the main menu, restart, and it'll be active (even if you disable it) until the next restart. This is the only way to get them to work in MP.

Regarding the stack overflow issue with firearms, it has been identified as an odd bug affecting characters wearing custom faces from spongie's customiser and only when they get blood splashed on their face specifically caused by firearm damage. This is some D4 damage on tuesdays shit.

Spongie should have a patch out soon. In the mean time, if you use a custom face don't shoot zombies point blank and you shouldn't experience the issue!

@Tomb Since you were asking about testing the recent errors without your mod activated, I did just that.

After over half an hour of shooting zombies, I didn't have any of the issues mentioned in previous comments. Debug mode was on. I figure I'd throw that in there since I hear results can be different with that enabled.

@Chunky - Check the load order that spongie's mods are all above mine, and make sure you restart after setting the order.

@JENOVA Absolute - Thanks Jenova! This is super useful as so far i've been unable to replicate it so it's been impossible to chase down. The log provides some insight but it seems like the problem is this "<local3>" being null, but local3 doesn't equate to anything that's in the character rig. I may have to ping TIS about this and see if they can offer any insight.

For any of those who have noticed the issue and have the inclination to test, i'd be real interested to hear if you still experience it without a body mod active, or with a different body mod active.

@Tomb I decided to test the reported issues myself.

I equipped the gun you start with and began shooting zombies. After a few minutes, my character suddenly went bald, the body mesh started... flickering? Let's go with that. Then I got over 300 errors within the span of a few seconds. I quit to the main menu to prevent further spam. Below is a link to the log so you can have a look.

I had to cut out everything from the log except the errors themselves because of pastebin's 512kb limit. Even then, I didn't include every error, but it should be fine as they all look identical. If there's other info you need aside from the errors, and know of a better site than pastebin, let me know so I can provide the full log.

@EastDawn - No worries, that's interesting to hear. I had a report from someone else with the same issue and they were reporting only running this mod and it's dependencies, no boots expanded, so i'll test tomorrow with boots expanded enabled as well and see if i can get a repro.

@Tomb Hello. Its my mistake, looks like the error caused by something else, its from Boots Expanded. I play tested it again, even though it has compatibility patch for your mod its not updated yet after last patch. I'm sorry for wasting your time into goose chase

@Tomb Not as soon as, the game won't freeze unless you shot at zombie, if you shot at them it will definitely freeze as soon after. You can check it on my screen shot, my character hair goes missing too.

@Merlin - I'm guessing you mean the B41 version of boots expanded and all the extra shoes it adds? Yeah there's no way to change that to only replace vanilla and not add any extras. I do have the compatibility patch for it which alters the shoe models (at least the ones present in B42) to suit this model better, but i've not added backwards compatibility for all the shoes it adds in B41. Waiting until mark updates the whole thing to B42.

@EastDawn - And does the error happen immediately, basically as soon as you shoot?

I've done some testing on this over the past half an hour and I can't seem to get a repro on my end unfortunately. I've shot a pistol from full durability to broken on debug mode, same with an M16, nothing. I thought it may be a difference between debug mode and normal, but I tried shooting all the mags empty from the starter pistol you get multiple times too, still no error yet.

I'm having the same problem too. After the last update, I tried to reinstall all the mods. And now basically I'm stuck. I'm using only two mods now, Spongie's character customization and this mod, everything else is Vanilla. I'm trying to shot a weapon, vanilla weapon, and everything's turn into slow motion, graphical error, zombie who's chasing me suddenly gone, low fps to the point the game is not responsive.

Hello, I'm encountering an issue while playing B42.12. When I shoot zombies with a gun, there's a chance it triggers graphical rendering errors, error messages, or even game freezes. The console displays repeated errors pointing to

zombie.core.skinnedmodel.model.ModelSlotRenderData.initModelInst(ModelSlotRenderData.java:250),

which stack infinitely until the game crashes. I suspect this might be related to character body or hairstyle mods. Has anyone else experienced this situation?

does this line up well with animations and item placement? are belt attached items just floating away from the body or maybe the char not actually touching the item they are equipped with?

Great mod, honestly. I finally got it to work and I'm having a blast. As you mentioned on the page, there are some issues with clothes, specifically vanilla shoes, and boots. they kinda don't have shape anymore, the just re-skin the foot. it works fine with Ellie's clothing and boots expanded. but Boots expanded doesn't have a vanilla only mode, or at least I haven't found it. any suggestions to make it a bit less tedious?

Fix has been pushed for the customisation faces being visible as items in the player inventory.

@EastDawn - Yea spongie alerted me to this this morning, i need to flag the faces to stay hidden after this update. I'll be doing that real soon.

@Hanms - If you disabled the mod and things don't look as you expect make sure you restart, as mentioned changes to the player body only happen when the game loads. If it's disabled on the main menu and weirdness persists after a restart, whatever you may be seeing must be coming from another mod.

I just really wish that there was nudity like Ra's in this, even as a seperate mod, cause that mod is getting outdated, and has like no compatibilities with anything.

Cause honestly? I hate having the underwear just permanently fused to my character but it also feels weird that I either have to stick with a ken doll or have a mod where only the women get nudity and get turned into some weird gooner model or something. Even if it was just like pixelized
censored nudity just added onto the character as an effect it'd be better, if that makes sense.

@Fridgeroni - As I understand it Ra's mod is just nude textures and the male appendage which is technically a clothing item, so there's potential that it would be compatible with this as long as you load it first in the load order, then load this after so it can override the body mesh. I've never tested this.

But according to Ra's mod page there are further incompatibilities with Spongie's Customiser. Presumably it has something to do with the 'clothing items as body features' that both mods are doing. It's possible to run this mod without Spongie's Customiser, but by not it would prevent you from having muscles / custom faces.

@Hunterr - LV is hell even on my machine heh. Crashing would point towards a CPU/memory issue though, typically not something that extra polygons would cause. Try dropping the textures back to 256 maybe that will help the memory, but the extra detail in the model really shouldn't cause anything except slightly lower FPS.

When i was driving through Louisville yesterday i have had a crash to desktop because of undiscovered areas :D Much zomboids there even on normal settings lol.

@coolguygamer420 - That's odd, wounds should be working just fine. Does your character have muscles? If they do it could possibly be some kind of layering issue coming from spongie's customiser, aka putting muscles over wounds.. It wasn't doing this before, but I'll check this next time i have a mo.

@Hunterr - Sadly not, players and zombies both reference the same model in the code.

Your mileage may vary of course, but in my testing the game will lag the first time when driving through an undiscovered area with or without any body mod installed. Presumably as the game is calculating all the loot etc both in zombies and static containers, vehicles, etc. Once an area is cached I find I can drive through it fine, just experiencing the normal zomboid driving stutters.

My rig is stacked tho so im aware that my experience may be skewed, but when i'm playing there is no difference at all in performance when running this mod vs vanilla.

Is there a way that only the player can have the body (and clothing mods for it) and not the zombies? The problem is that body mods cause lag when driving arround a city because of the zombies loading in.

@DeputyDong - NP! Honestly im not sure, the 4 for each gender that i added recently i did as a spur of the moment kinda thing so maybe, it depends if inspiration strikes. Honestly tho check out gimp and try editing the textures its way easier than you probably expect.

@Fridgeroni - Both have the same level of nudity, there's no genitalia on either.

@Tomb thank you for the response! I will do my best, Its just the skin textures for the head! It's just slightly off :( lol but I think I'll make the choice to stick without spongies retex, follow-up question is there any future plans for more head options for the female? The male textures are perfect imo but I can't find one I like for the females. Sorry if it's a dumb question. Again thanks for everything!

@DeputyDong - No need to apologise dude! Spongie's retexture should work with this no problem, the only issue is the the faces are going to look slightly different, the geometry of the heads is shaped differently to vanilla so it distorts the textures a bit. I could transplant the vanilla head on to these models as like an optional thing but that kinda defeats the purpose, and I don't have perms to edit spongie's textures.

If it's something you really want to use and can't look past the faces being a lil wonky you could do some very mild edits to spongie's textures yourself to get them to look right. All it would take is moving the eyes like a pixel or two.

for some reason, the facial features are tinted green. like the eyebrows and any blacks on the face are green. any fix? i have the goth addon installed, but its not enabled, i have it for the hair and makeup

@ShadowV2 - I haven't tested it. From what I understand the only cure hides the body model with a mask and places a clothing item that looks like an amputee stump in it's place. This body shares all the vanilla texture stuff so the masks will work but the model the only cure adds for the amputated areas will be built to fit the vanilla body. It'll look odd but should function.

Is this compatible with the only cure. Because when i use the two mods together it looks like my charachter has two arms when i started with the amputee trait.
