Freef's sounds are too HD to be real 80's sounds, this is much better because they're actually from 80's movies.

oh something more arcade-y and silly like what they used for KITT would pretty good too. if not to just use something from there it has pretty good samples that did appear in other games later

It includes a 79' movie, so it's technically not super accurate but i think there are a lot of sounds in the first and second Alien movies you could use for either the HEV Pickup sounds or the gravity gun. mostly the ones the ship and its computer make.

@Doctor Crack I'm aware of that mod's existence, but I was more referring to this one with the explosions and ricochet sounds included. And this one uses genuine 1980's movie gun sounds, whereas the other one uses some custom made 80's inspired sounds that I always thought sounded a bit off.

This was done on purpose, so people can use these sounds with other "non-alien" gun replacements.

The only sounds I really have an issue to is mainly the pulse rifle's main ones sound more like traditional guns than trying to make it sound alien since it's not a traditional gun, surely there's some kind of media from the 1980s that would have fit the bill I mean there's the Terminator movies for example, surely any of the guns used by the Terminators would have fit the bill for the pulse rifle better.

This is pretty darn nice, but little bit of a suggestion: It's a bit strange having the Dirty Harry Magnum sound coming out of the pistol instead of the revolver, maybe have the pistol use the classic James Bond PPK sound instead, and have the revolver use the magnum sound.

But aside from that, I really love the idea of this whole mod. :)
