Is there a way to setup the game fresh automatically without having to play the tutorial campaign first or without having to remove every tutorial card etc. manually?
One of the best mods on TTS. I have this game at home and highly recommend. Being able to jump in like this is great. Would love to see the expansions added but as is, wonderful mod <3

@WhiteRabbit Hey, I really appreciate you creating and maintaining this mod. I've seen several people approach you with offers for scans of the expansions, but I'm not sure if any of them followed through. I have all of the expansion content and a 2400 x 2400 DPI scanner. I know it's a big effort to prep and import all of that, but if you are still interested in adding the expansions to your mod I can provide the assets.

@Waruko — Thanks for the heads up, I've fixed the art on Point Of Interest cards P279 and P280!
nakaru_alanzor 6 月 29 日 下午 2:16
excuse me, I was searching the deadly space refference card, but i didn't found it. is it that card in the mod?
just wanted to leave a thanks for porting this game to tabletop, and in such a way where most things were easy to find and store despite it being so big :)
Waruko 5
If you want to fix it, cards P279 and P280 didn't scan quite right and has white space in the top left edge. Thanks for the mod!
Volodymyr 3
A small omission I've stumbled upon: Unique Discovery 33 card is not numbered in any way.
@Volodymyr — I don't disagree with you! However, my scanner isn't large enough to fit an entire page from the ship book, so I'd need to scan each page multiple times to cover the entire thing. Then I'd need to manually stitch them back together in Photoshop, while trying to correct for alignment and focus. It's more work than I was willing to take on when I first built this mod for just me and my friends.

However, you're correct: there's no pizzazz in the rules summary, and ISS Vanguard's artwork is a large part of what makes it so unique and compelling.

So if anyone out there has full scans of the ship book pages at high resolution (minimum of 600dpi), I'd happily take them and add them to the mod! If you're such a person, let's start a conversation in the Discussions section to talk about it!
Volodymyr 3
I do not want to sound ungrateful, but there is a thing I really miss in this mod – the ship book pages that detail the ship sections and the ship phase in general. The Esoteric Order of Gamers are good people, but their summary lacks… pazazz. Would be nice to have the ship book pages available.
Volodymyr 3
OK, makes sense. Thanks.
@Volodymyr — (Comment 1 of 2) Those crewmember organizers are functioning as intended; they are not designed to bring the crewmember cards with them when Recalled. These boards exist because I wanted some additional, temporary table space to lay out all available crewmembers during the Ship Facilities phase, so it's easy to see who meets the requirements to be assigned to the various tasks.
@Volodymyr — (Comment 2 of 2) After the Ship Facilities phase is complete, during the Mission Launch Procedure phase, you'll "Prepare the Away Team". One of the final steps of this phase is to "Return any remaining crewmembers in players' hands to Resting Crew". At that point, you can manually take all the remaining crewmembers off the organizers, place them onto the "Resting Crew" card on the right side of the table, and Recall the organizers.

During the next "Resuming a Saved Game" phase, each player takes the crewmember cards for the sections they control into their hand; these are available crewmembers. This is when you Place the organizers, taking all the crewmembers from Resting Crew and putting them onto the corresponding organizer.
@Jay — It's not an impossibility! However, it would likely be a slow process on my end. Scanning the assets is only about 1/3 of the process; after that I need to rotate/crop/prep the images into usable assets, then import and prep the assets in Tabletop Simulator. If the base game is any indication, I'm betting there are hundreds of cards and other objects that would need to be prepared for each expansion. I might able to chip away at them over time, but again it wouldn't be fast. I'd also require that the original scans be a minimum of 600dpi, scanned with a physical scanner and not just photos taken with a cellphone.
Volodymyr 3
Hello! Great looking mod. I was toying with it, prepping for a campaign with my friends and I would like a bit of clarification about the crewmember organizer. When I recall the colored platforms, the cards I have placed on them are not recalled. Is that by design? It feels like it is supposed to recall the cards as well. Maybe I’m missing some setting?
Jay 3
Hey @WhiteRabbit.. don't want to make any promises here because it would be a massive undertaking I'm sure, but suppose I was willing to scan all the materials for Lost Fleet and Deadly Frontier, would you be able to implement them into the mod?
@mega karaczan — Hey thanks! Developing this mod was a huge amount of time and effort, and I appreciate hearing that. :steamhappy: Hope you're having fun with ISS Vanguard, let me know if you find anything that needs fixing!
dude, just dropping in to say thank you for your work. Appreciate.
@chrizzo — There is a notecard on the table titled "TUTORIAL START" that explains: "All cards from Tutorial Deck A & B are already set up on the table. Crewmembers still need to be placed in their starting positions. Once the tutorial is complete, don't forget that many Tutorial Cards should be REMOVED FROM THE GAME. (There's a box for this at the right.)"
i am sorry, but i cant find the tutorial deck A and B - am i blind?

Veteran Crewmembers Complete

I have completed scanning and importing all 90 Veteran Crewmembers from the Personnel Files expansion.
Red 2
I'm thinking of using the notebook, create a new tab with the planet's name, and fill it in like the normal planet sheet, then put away the cards as normal.
The_Journeyman 2 月 23 日 下午 5:12
Another option for saving planet states : take an empty box. Name it according to the planet and lander card you are saving. ( EG Pellucid L1. ) copy/paste the needed parts from the Planetopia, noting in the description field of each which sector it should be in, and drop them in the box. Done!
Thank you to the 2,500+ folks who have Subscribed to this mod!
This workshop mod is now Unlisted.

This means that it will remain visible to everyone, but will not show up in searches or on your profile.

I will continue to make gradual updates for the still-missing components (which I believe is only about half of the Personnel Files cards, and the rules/details for the Add-On Sections). I will probably complete these in about a week or so.

Please note that it is unlikely that I will add any of the large expansions, such as Lost Fleet. I simply don't have the time to scan, prepare, and implement all the assets.

But let me know if you experience any issues or missing components with the base game or Personnel Files and I'll do my best to fix them. Thanks again, I hope you're having fun with ISS Vanguard!
Ludwig 2
One thing you might consider, I could rotate the images 180 degrees, then use the 'sideways' option in the custom deck options. This will make a vertically oriented card appear horizontal when you use the zoom feature. I had considered it before, but I had the cards oriented backwards to be able to use that feature.
@Ludwig — Orienting horizontal cards to be vertical in their original deck image is a bit of a deal-breaker for me. I very frequently use the TTS feature to "Focus" on a card by holding the option key on a Mac (I think it's Alt on a PC). This is a great way to instantly "zoom" in on a card without needing to manually move the camera in close to read small print.

Horizontal cards that have been rotated to be vertical in the original image will display sideways when using this feature. That's why I specifically built horizontal decks to be horizontal in their original deck image.

Tutorial Deck A is the only deck the has a combination of horizontal and vertical cards, and since that deck is immediately dismantled during setup, I didn't feel it important that these cards correctly stack into a deck without distorting their dimensions.
Ludwig 2
Try this link, should be the decks that I changed.

Ludwig 2
Tell you what I'll do, I'll make an unlisted mod with the decks, and then post the link to it so you can grab them.
Ludwig 2
They absolutely are
@Ludwig — OK great, sounds you absolutely know what you're doing! :steamhappy:

Are all your individual cards within the decks Named for each of searching? That's a pretty important feature for me, since the big thing I don't want to do is have to rewrite all the Names to the 350+ POI & Equipment cards. If that's the case, I might prefer to grab your original deck components in TTS (there are a few ways this could be done). Let me know!
Ludwig 2
I did end up rotating the horizontal cards, just because on my end I wanted cards to be able to stack into decks (like for the tutorial decks), so I wanted them all to be able to stack properly without their dimensions changing, but that can generally be changed just be rotating the whole sheet.
Ludwig 2
The card backs and fronts are all from your scans, I've double, triple, and quadruple checked that the backs and fronts all match numbers. For the equipment cards I used the numbers that you had named the cards in your mod, as I had no other reference to the numbers of them, so if they were correct on your end, they're correct on my end. I used photoshop to add the numbers in, I used Calibri 20pt Bold for the font, the sheet sizes are the maximum allowable pixel size on tabletop simulator in .png format, I wouldn't be sending the decks as objects (unless you somehow were able to join me to exchange them on tts), but I could send the links to the cloud .png files. There are only 4 decks that you scrubbed the numbers from.
@Ludwig — Regarding your decks that include card numbers on the back, I appreciate the offer but I'm not sure; I have very particular requirements for components. Do your decks use the original scans I created for the fronts and backs? What method did you use to add numbers (e.g. via Photoshop or from original scans)? Do the numbers match the font styling of the original cards? Are all the cards correctly Named, have the correct Tag, and have the Snap toggle turned on? What are the pixel dimensions you're using for a single card? Have you verified there are no errors, typos, or missing cards?
@Ludwig — The Personnel Files book is 40 individual pages that I don't have the time to scan and prepare as an in-game component. If someone else were to provide a copy I'd include it (especially if it's in original PDF format, which would be a much smaller file weight than 40 high-res scans).

I've only included essentially one page from the Personnel Files book, which features the rules on how to use the Veteran cards. Since the flavor text from the book doesn't impact gameplay, I've opted not to include it.

For those who would like to read all the narrative bits from the Personnel Files book (and many of them are quite interesting and/or amusing), you could buy a physical copy (along with all the Veteran cards) from Noble Knight games for about $17. I believe they'll ship just about anywhere:

Ludwig 2
Hey there, 2 things. First, I wanted to know if you ever intend to scan the personnel files book, because I've been waiting to begin my campaign until the personnel files expansion is complete. From everything I've read from people that played, the Personnel Files book is what actually makes the expansion worth playing (since this is a very narrative game). Secondly, I notice you took the reference numbers off the backs of many of the cards. I've actually created new decks with the ref numbers added back onto them on my end. If you're interested in the files, I'll send you the links.
@Red — What we did to "Save" a planet's layout after exploration was to create a save game in Tabletop Simulator named after the planet, like "(PlanetName) Explored". Whenever you return to that planet, you can first load the old save game and copy the Planetopedia, Theats, Points of Interest, and other cards over to your current campaign save game.

Alternatively, you can Search the "Explored" save game for those components and click "Spawn" next to the Planetopedia, Points of Interest, and all the other assets you need to import. That way they'll load into the exact same positions from the old save game (and remain locked where applicable).
Red 2
Well played, remaining hidden. I have one question: After finishing an exploration, the layout of the planet is saved. Is there a save sheet to fill, or does the map save automatically?
@Masao Gen — The Decal Tool can be found near the bottom of the left sidebar of tools in Tabletop Simulator, below the Gizmo Tool. Click the Decal Tool to open up its menu, where all Crewmember rank decals and the bookmark decal can be found.

https://kb.tabletopsimulator.com/game-tools/decal-tool/
Masao Gen 2
Hello. May I ask where can I find all the decals? (The crew ones and the planet bookmark ones)
@tom.kassel — Instead of using card sleeves, to mark a Crewmember's assigned Section and current Rank, use the corresponding Decal to mark the Crewmember's card. When they rank up or change Sections, replace the previous Decal with a new one. There are 12 total Decals for this purpose, one of each Rank I, II, and III for each of the four Sections.
@Hiromacu — Thanks, glad it's working for you and you're enjoying it!

@Vitolus — I only uploaded this to play online with my friends after purchasing a physical copy of the game. If anyone from AR asks me to take this mod down, I will do so immediately.

@Nachin021 — I do not own a copy of the Deadly Frontier expansion, so it is not included in this mod.
@Ludwig — Great catch and thanks for the heads-up! I have now added the previously-missing Research Project card R24 to the latest version of this mod.
are rank sleeves implemented somehow? Or do you just add a title to the card manually?
Hello, sorry to bother you. I have a question about this mod: does it happen to include the Deadly Frontier expansion by any chance? Thank you so much! ♥
Let's see how long this mod last, until AR takes it down :steamfacepalm:
Hiromacu 2
All dice is OK to me. Awesome job.
Ludwig 2
If you'd like more information the card is entitled "Monomolecular Materials"
Ludwig 2
It seems you're missing research project card R24, from research on the web it seems there are supposed to be research project cards R01-R24, R01 in in the tutorial deck and the other 23 are listed as research cards in the contents.
For those still seeing only black Section Dice, please check the ISS Vanguard Dice mod linked below once more. I have updated the image paths for the dice in that mod to a different public server.

Additionally, try turning off "Mod Caching" in the TTS Settings and reload this mod to see if that helps.

Settings > Game > Mod Caching (uncheck this option)

Please let me know if they still don't work and I'll try a different solution!

Oh, and what about the Injury and Danger dice in the original mod? Are they also black, or are those working as expected?
