The merchants will revive again after they die. Dueling them means you can recruit them and they will no longer stay in the town.

If any of the merchants die for any reason, they never respawn
Also, if your affinity with them raises past a certain point, they will give you a option to duel them. Dueling will cause them to disappear.

You can play the game in stable or nightly version. I make my mods for the stable version because nightly version updates too much and can break mods. The mod is working fine for me in stable version.

Well, I found a solution to the disappearance of the chat function. Create a file for the plot dialogue and write the chat entry to restore it. This was discovered when I created the mod myself.
The problem with bubble text is related to symbols. If symbols are not used, they will not be displayed on the character's head. The Chinese “”symbol can be used, but half of the symbols will be displayed, which greatly affects the appearance. Only English and Japanese symbols are acceptable.

After the Steam Workshop supplemented the missing files for this mod, the merchant chat feature of this mod stopped working again. After checking all mods, it was found that the issue is unrelated to other mods. Attempts to resubscribe to all mods and reinstall the game did not resolve the problem. Disabling the additional features of this mod's merchant (such as healing and investing) also did not fix the issue, and the additional features are still functioning.

By the way, there is an empty folder in this mod. Is it supposed to be like that?

Unsubscribing and then resubscribing to Custom Whatever Loader does not resolve the issue, but deleting the OmegasGeneralMerchants folder along with its files does. Moreover, this does not affect the gameplay of old or new save files, and the mod's functionality remains completely intact. It's truly remarkable.
