If I get time this semester I'll try and fix this up.
Cut the .vpk file and past it into :
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom
Aldarith I love you!
It depends - if those are for distant deathsounds then it is most likely.
I like 'em on the night maps!
They're meant to be more noticeable than the default distant death sounds. The regular first person sounds satisfied me, but the far-off death sounds didn't. Most of these sounds aren't suitable fidelity for first person anways, they're either inappropriate because they were never recorded to be used that way or because they sound grainy without reverb.
I'm gonna make a first person pack since I've received some requests, though. It will just take me some time.
Restart the game and type snd_addcache aldariths_deathsounds.vpk, then snd_restart again.
Has worked for me when other methods have not, might work for other problematic packs - just replace aldariths_deathsounds.vpk with the filename of the relevant pack.
Also - please be aware of my earlier comment. These are not first person death sounds, they are heard when a player is killed far away from you. Some folks have had some confusion over this issue :P
I just dunno when.
Would you want something in a similar vein or do you just want me to make a crack at it?
