@Gambos you should check out La Brea Tar Pits in California, lol. They have a similar display, complete with a mammoth calf watching the whole thing. Welcome to reality, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

That's funny you say it's morbid. I grew up in nebraska and california- both states being famous for tar pits - and they have exactly this. a fountain with an elephant getting sucked into it slowly killing and preserving the animal for us to enjoy centuries later. Nothing morbid about that. I loved it as a kid. lol

The mammoth is meant to be the main centerpiece, as mammoths and many other more recently extinct animals have had their remains found in tar pits.

Looks lovely except for the mammoth. Bit morbid and just a tad odd. I'd wager it would feel better if you could only see the tusks or some such.
