black mesa xen sucks not because it's bad or low-effort or poorly designed and whatnot, but rather it's because the clueless fucks who made it decided to make the entire fucking amazon rainforest but purple, and in space with floating islands when it's supposed to be a "borderworld" that was originally barren and lifeless but used by the many invasive alien dimensions that began to get connected to it to start colonizing it (literally not one living thing there is native to the land). black mesa xen is just SOOO fucking full of life and everything there feels indigenous even though this was never supposed to be the case...
