okay so funny thing: it does have the player shader but i quite conveniently forgot to connect all the nodes that do the transparency stuff

One minor issue, possible that your material is missing playershader v3 (i forgot what it was called) which gives materials occlusions aka the object gets half-invisible when the camera gets close to you.
