nope, they were broken before too, probably they got broken after valve fixed the way how voice lines play

when one character says two lines at one time, previous one gets interrupted, so it means something is interrupting her lines

i remember these lines working when i played episode 1 before they were merged into Half-Life 2. so these must have broken when valve put them all in one game

Yes it should be compatible with 'restored response' as the two mods modify different files.

There's more about this bug: it appears that Alyx doesn't speak because of the darkness. Her other voice lines can be just interrupted after you turn off the flashlight. Then when she gets silent, her mouth moves weird as if she's saying something, and you can hear the sound of breathing. Probably that breathing sound when Alyx is in the darkness can interrupt her voice lines. I think we should report this bug to Valve.

It should works with different languages as it only modifies scripts related to alyx.

In truth the fix I have made use the same method as the advisor barn fix mod but strangely no one as ever made a mod to fix the missing sounds bug of episode 1

In case you want to test if the mod works, an easy method is to launch episode 1 with the mod disable then enable. Start 'lowlife chapter' and try to trigger the same alyx dialogues as shown in the pictures I have posted.

I found out that the source of my problem was with certain mods, typically weapon mods. Im not sure why they did it but when removed it fixed my game.
