First of all, F14A never dropped bombs in Vietnam. They only provided air cover for the evacuation

I remember towing SPAR targets from our DDG during West-Pac/IO cruise1984 with USS Ranger. The Tomcats were really lackadaisical during their bomb runs, whilst the A-6's and A-7's kinda tried to put on a show doing rolls and such on their approach and pullout.

I mean they did have a ballistic computer. I'd love to see the rest of the loads they could carry if you'd be okay doing them like the zuni's and whatnot.

A lot of people think they cant carry Air to ground ordinance just because they were rarely seen carrying it but yes Tomcat A's and A+'s were capable of unguided air to ground.
