With that being said, I can look into creating a new mod from scratch based on overdose's ideas that separates the detection logic from zombie distance while inside of a vehicle. Given the issues that other players have been experiencing with the mod and B42's new zombie logic/stealth mechanics, this is an idea that I've been tossing around anyway.
1) Engine must be off
2) Doors and windows closed and not broken (by default, at least 15% durability)
3) Zombie is not chasing you
4) Zombie is at a sufficient distance from the car - by default this distance is set to 2, but I recommend reducing to 1 in sandbox options. (It sounds like they may be breaching this radius for you, at which point they'll aggro)
Also note that traits factor into how successful you are in hiding, e.g. if you have the 'Conspicuous' trait it will be more difficult to hide in a vehicle.
@Raffael - Which moodles mod are you using? I just tested with Devcatt's and could not reproduce your issue.
