Concerning levels: if you're using Jack's Hero classes mod, you're stuck at level 20. No matter what. Jack derped out on all 30 thousand of us who subscribed to his mod, leaving it broken and not playing well with others. It was the greatest mod ever made imo, and could be updated fairly easily i bet, if someone knew how. Which isn't me. But that may be your culprit.

upon further testing I have determined it isn't a incompatibility, as using no other mods still has the issue

tbh it might be a mod incompatibility as i do run some realm trait mods, maybe they effect it regardless of the trait i use

Then im unable to help, i would yet understand if there was trait overriding hero level cap, but in this situation... i dunno what to do.

Can you tell me yet what world traits did you pick? It can be helpfull to investigate it, i tried myself multiple times to find the root, but unsuccessfuly, for majority it works, for some people the game refuses to inject my mod into their playthroughs.

yeah only custom realms prevent me leveling up past 20

I've been unable to level past 20 on custom realms, i can on fields of rebirth but not on custom realms

.acp file contains modifications made to base game data, for this mod there was no need to make custom assets.

I don't have any files in the Packs folder and in other folders as well, only .acp file. Or is this file enough to make the mod work?

For some people my mod works, for other group of people not, im unable to reproduce this issue and find a good solution to fix it so mod works for all people. I played 4 long-term sessions using this mod since Ogre 1.0+ updates and i have had no problems to level beyond level 20.

I have been unable to get this mod to work either on its own or with others. I've tested:

1) Running the mod in my main modpack (23 mods)
2) Running the mod with only SkyPhoenix mods active
3) Running this mod only.
4) Unsubscribing, verifying files are deleted from steamapps folder, resubscribing, running this mod only.

You can try to put my mod after Hero Classes mod in load's order to see if this changes anything. Seems like the mod can modify something inside properties where are also determiners for hero level cap.

I still can't get this mod to work, or the other level 30 mod which exists and has been updated since Giant kings. Could be a conflict with Jack's Hero Classes mod, which he stopped updating last November. However, I like his Hero Classes more than I like having level 30 heroes, so I guess i'm stuck with level 20 heroes forever! Sad. I'll always miss you, level 30! :(

For me, it works in campaign games but not custom games.

Mod is compatible with Ogre 1.2.1 Update, i tested it quickly and play my long term game and can go past level 20.

Yeah. weird thing - it did not let me level up to 30 again. Even tried reinstalling again and still stuck at 20. This is super weird but oh well. hahha

I can live without the lvl 30 only thing that bugs me is it works for some and not others, wish I knew what the difference was.

I tried making my own it didn't work there are only three values to change, and all the other mods work fine just the level 30 mod.

There can be a lot of reasons as to why the game is rejecting my mod but its not my mod's fault. In your situations reinstalling the game does not help. You can try yet to make your own level 30 mod and see if this whether works or not, my mod has attached txt file describing where to find determiners responsible for hero level cap. I dont know other solution if reinstalling the whole game does not help.

Well I am at a loss thanks for trying SkyPhoenixZ1 even went so far as uninstalling the Paradox launcher still not working for now :(

That's just weird I've uninstalled the game deleted the three AOW4 folders in steam/documents/roaming profile of course I am using hauer to get to 20. All of my mods got redownloaded and only enabled this one.

I know this may sound silly but sometimes people forget to add mod to their playset or turned them off by accident.

Something must be wrong on your side, in worst cases game files can be corrupted. I maintain this mod to keep compatiblity with the game and to say more i play using this mod.

Is this working for people? If so what did they do I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game with no affect and just use this mod and still stuck at 20.

I'm curious, are there any plans for you to make a mod allowing multiple major transformations? There's one in the workshop but it's outdated.

There is nothing i can do in this situation. Disabling DLcs (extra assets) wont do anything as well because the base game itself refuses for some reasons to launch and inject my mod into your playthroughs. I looked over new content and there are not changes to properties defining hero levels. There can be a lot of factors as to why this is happening but its not my mod's fault. Currently i have no idea how i can help with.

Hi SkyPhoenixZ1. Thank you so much for your effort. Sadly, still the same issue is still encountered. I unsubbed and resubbed after a minute (even verified that mod was gone/deleted in steam workshop dir after unsubbing) and redid the same testing. Also did a verify integrity of game files. Testing included this mod alone and with HaIF and 50% more exp. Also did a test wherein i leveled the ruler until 19 via hauer and just killed mobs to get to 20. Also tried disabling GK DLC and tried going to the open beta. I honestly dont know what's happening LOL. I'll just keep this mod activated on the off chance it just works on my machine. Okay i updated this mod and tell me if you see differences on your side. I tested this mod and whether it is version from 1st April or today, i dont see differences between them and work just fine. I also searched over some .rpk files related to heroes, but there are no other values affecting "Hero Max Level". Please just let me know how it goes now.

Okay i gonna look deeply into data files and update this mod just in case but i really doubt that this is my mod fault as i use this mod in my long term games and everything was tested and working as expected before uploading it.

Same here. I still can't get past level 20 using this mod. No other mods I use have anything to do with altering Hero levels, so I fail to see how I could have a mod conflict. I also tried the only other level 30 mod which has been updated, and it failed to work also. I never had any issues before this new Giant update... :/

Hi SkyPhoenixZ1. Good day and I hope you're doing well! Thank you for the response! On my initial testing, I did unsub and resubbed to update the mod. Did that again today and still the same result. Also did the suggested Launching paradox launcher (via launching aow4) > All Installed Mods > click Reload Installed mods (between search and View buttons) with checked also clear cache. I then launched the game with only this mod but it still resulted in the same result - max level 20 via hauer cheat command and even killing an army afterwards does not exceed it. All testing, a new game was created with the default faction of Elderstone used. Again, thank you for the great job you are doing!

To be honest i was worried that they changed something again in patch Ogre 1.1, but mod works perfectly fine with it.

I think you both use outdated version of mod's build (sometimes can not update automatically your mod when you open paradox launcher), used in session started before activating this mod or have missing / corrupted game files. I decided to check quickly mod before taking steps to update mod and as for me i can go past lvl 20, and i killed random stack of units and experience can also be accumulated. You can force updating this mod by opening paradox launcher, go to installed mods tab and click rotating arrow button.

Hi Sky! "Wrath" down below is correct, your mod currently isn't allowing Heroes to go past level 20. It isn't just YOUR mod though, it's ALL "level 30" mods. None of them work any more. This Giant update changed something essential concerning the level cap for Heroes, and no modder has yet figured out what it is. I've tried every level 30 mod that exists, all of which were outdated except for your own. Same result. No one is able to play level 30 Heroes atm, and unless something changes it seems we won'tl get to again. ;/ Can YOU figure out what the Giant update changed about the max level possible for Heroes?

I've tried to run it alone and with HaIF v2b, tested it by creating a new game + leveling the hero via hauer and 20 is max. Also tried maxing it to 20 and killing a nearby camp to gain exp another way and still 20 max

@BBQuasar my group and I come across this issue almost every single time we play any modset together. The problem is almost always load order, make sure everyone has the exact same mods AND load order. There have been a handful of mods in total that straight up didn't work, though.

Required experience from lvl 1 to 20 is unchanged.

since this mod increases level cap, will the exp required to level up decreased?

@BBQuasar Then there is no much i can do to fix it, seems like the game has issues supporting this mod in online multiplayer modes and game developers must adresss it themselves, its very simple mod which modifies only 3 existing values to make possible level your characters to level 30. I didnt find any other values related to hero level cap that could affect multiplayer games separately.

@skaz88, yeah only new started session will benefit from this mod, i updated mod description to mention it.

I hosted the game with the mod and my friend had is subscribed too. He was getting a internal error occurred message when he tried to join me. I got the same message when i tried to join him. We tested with only this mod installed and got the same message.

Do you need to start a new game for this to work? Does it make the heroes stronger?
