This mod is a blessing
thank you so much

Yo holy shit dude, this mod DRAMATICALLY lowered my game loading time. My Quadro Nvidia P2000 render card still took usually about a minute to load the game on loading a save file, this lowered a near minute wait every time to 10 seconds!

You're a life saver!

BAD ESS!!!
Yurai 2
Will you consider making it for buildings, characters and items
I dont mind loss in quality, in fact im trying to make everything kind of low poly for the retro look

@Arrowthebest
Sorry for late reply, been away offline for awhile. This mod is primarily focused environment models like trees and rocks. It will probably work along side.

Mods that load after (lower in order) will override previous mod content. So it's not that this mod won't work with other mods. It should in theory work with any mod even with conflicts. Just the last mod to load "gets the final say" for which model to use.

I hope that helps.

Does this work with the Pretty Stuff mod from JaxiPaxi? That changes like, in-door type items like the cups and jugs and other gear. Does this mod also touch that stuff in a way that would conflict?

Also, not to be bothersome, but some before and after pictures and other illustrative examples would be very nice if you are able to add them there.
It does work with texture options. It'll work with the other texture replacement mods too.
Chai Gill 1
Does your mod work well with Texture Options? Or only one can be used?

Hero of my old laptop!

@Nox
I mean to be pedantic there will be a visual downgrade. IMO it's not particularly significant given the overall picture. With personal use it's something I'll notice comparing screenshots but not usually something I'll notice just by itself while playing the game and not nitpicking.

The mod is obviously made in the same direction of the low resolution texture mods. It's lower fidelity models that run faster.

The best way to decide is to just try it, it's free and easy to try.

nice work o7
Nox 1
well if results are good and visually there are no problems cant argue with the results lol
Kindrad  [
@Nox
Yes.
Both depending on the model. Some of them like rocks or tree trunks are easy fodder for decimate and visual inspection. Others with more interesting shapes not so much.
Nox 1
did you properly decreased the each model by hand or just decimated each one and just throw back in?
Milk_Bottle12 1 月 3 日 上午 8:11
does it matter where i put it in the mod list?
very good thank:praisesun: you:praisesun:

When you complain about reuploads before actually saying what the mod does
Derejin 1
Thanks for doing optimization work!
Kindrad  [
@Laughing Forest
It doesn't change rendering or textures. It shouldn't impact ground visuals at all. It replaces highpoly models with lowpoly models for things like rocks or trees.
Kindrad  [
@Daemonslime
Unless Scar's mod(s) is doing something weird I don't think that should be the case.
I hit jellyfish with hammers 1
furry, mod ignored
Laughing Forest 1
Does this effect what the actual ground/floor render as at all?
Daemonslime 1
wish this worked with Scars mods, leads to crashing if using performance fix mod by him with this mod
Tetichandrion 1
Thank you for this, my loading times have reduced a lot since I used this mod. I still have to find some differences to quality, even in close-up. :steamthumbsup:

This and FASTR should work just fine together for anyone curious <3
@PlayaCharacter
There are some other mods on the workshop that already do what ordenator does. (Some of which used ordenator actually). It should be pretty easy to find them with a search.
@Amko
FASTR and this do different things.

As far as I can tell FASTR alters the spawnrates and placements of foliage, rocks, and other clutter. This mod replaces models with lightweight lower polygon versions. Both aim to increase performance in different ways.

Since they do different things they should be able to work together.

I'll go ahead and update description since I can see this being being asked again.
Using it right now. I don't see a difference..

.. but I'm sure my computer appreciates it.. :steamhappy:

This is something I had enough knowledge to know was needed, but not enough knowledge to make myself. The war against needlessly large textures and meshes in gaming continues.

For those who get gains from this, check out a program called Ordenador on the Skyrim Nexus. Running that on your Kenshi mods and data folders will improve performance dramatically. If you're short on VRAM, you definitely need it.

Be sure to use its backup feature, because it will distort loading screens and skybox textures, along with anything else from mods that I don't use and thus don't know to warn you about. Ordenador's native backup preserves directory structure, making it a breeze to restore the original textures. There are many guides online for how to use it, read one of them! And again, make backups!
Amko The Terrible 2024
How does this compare to FASTR?
Nice work! Updooted!
