+ i cant find those its moded traits?
Claustrophobic, Hemophobic, Pacifist
Mod used to work fine. Hit a deadend now. Subscribed to both become desensitized and become desensitized42.
Regular desensitized comes up on my mod list to enable but des42 doesn't show up to be anabled/disabled. In server settings, I can add des42 in mod workshop setting but in mod list setting it doesn't auto add nor give me an option to select it in mod list. (tried just copy pasting Mod ID in the mod list to add it but still won't work in-game. I'm over the maximum kill limit. Tried it with just regular become desensitized but won't work on my server.
I made sure both of them were in my workshop files in steam too. For some reason it won't recognize 42 as a mod.
Also I would like to make a suggestion, there could be levels of desensitisation. first toning down the original fear traits, then removing it, then becoming a bit bolder, and only then totally lose all fear. That way the process would be a bit more natural and set up in stages.
It gives the player a hero arc, to start off as a terrified weakling, but through perseverance and sheer determination to survive, you can become the hero of the apocalypse. Very cool!
I suggest making both your brave values lower than your desensitized values.
Personally, I have brave min=50, max=100, and desensitized min=250, max 500.
As I understand it, "min" is where the mod will begin RNG to see if you acquire the trait.
If you hit "max," you're guaranteed the trait. The wider the gap, the more chances you don't get the trait after a kill at or above "min." If you effectively want to be guaranteed to get it after so many kills, you could do say, Brave min=100, max=101, desensitized min=250, max=251.
I agree with ajeezy1994 that it doesn't take much to overcome your fears, and not much more thereafter to become desensitized. I used to have a nasty flinch when shooting pistol IRL, but after a month of frequent training, maybe 400 shots in, my flinch was gone, and I don't even blink now when a gunshot goes off. Not quite the same thing, but similar concept.
I'm hoping Become Brave or Become Desensitized fixes it. My guy also doesn't require water for some reason. Weird.
War Fatigue (zomboid compliance even) is also a thing, it was discovered during WW2 squads that have survived several theaters of war had their battle effectiveness reduced and not increased the more battles fought after a certain amount of time. Compliance is even a thing in zomboid where players where a random zombie will end 6+ month run during gardening or looting without checking the room.
