Due to a change in the game specifications, rivers will no longer be generated.
This is because it is no longer possible for entire water areas and rivers to coexist.

There are no other updates related to map generation, so I don't think the update will cause it to stop working.
Please consider other factors rather than the MOD.

To get this to work, I had to:
1. start the game
2. unlock mods by clicking on mods and accepting the terms.
3. Activate the mod
4. Restart the game.

Now it shows up in my map selection.

Please note that this is the only mod I have installed.
