I've already resolved it for VR port. Will see if I can transfer it for flat version
The selfillum setup was not to highlight sights but to simulate pistol glowing when firing. That explains why there's only map in diffuse alpha channel and not in normal map alpha like usual. This way it allows utilize the same map for illum, phong and envmap.
If i put back materials proxy setup that was initially, the sights glow only for couple of seconds, then fades to black.
