@HAY_DE_DREAMER the chat command to get the bots to use pills/adre is "bots tempheal", replace "bots" with the name if you want a specific one only

I would take that up with the original left 4 bots 2 dev

the use pills feature is bugging, the bot will not use the pills even I typed "Ellis use pills"

It took a lot of trial and error, but I found out that by enabling Steam Input, you can set a joystick to behave as the mouse with the Joystick Mouse option. The downside is that you can't map controller buttons while using Steam Input. So you have to set the Smart Vocalizer to a keyboard key, and then set the button you want on the controller to that keyboard key in Steam Input. However, it will forget your mappings every time you restart the game. In order for it to remember, you have to keep the gamepad enabled in the settings menu, and then manually add the keyboard key binds to the 360 controller config. Only then will it load back up your key bindings, and only while a controller is connected.

Also, one other complication for me personally is that I play with inverted Y-axis for camera, and that unfortunately continues to be inverted for the wheel menus. I guess it's the best I'm going to get. Really it's way more complicated than it should be.

I’m afraid I don’t have any experience with controllers nor do I have control over how menu wheels work. This mod just adds onto the framework that comes with the pre-existing vocalizer wheels made by valve, so I’d look for a mod that specifically changes that.

Is there a way to make this work with a controller? It would be very convenient. Right now I have it set so that R3 brings up the wheel menu, but it doesn't stay up unless I hold the button down. I also can't select anything in the menu with the right analog stick, I have to use the mouse.

What would work great is a controller mode where the menu is toggled on instead of held and you point the stick in the direction of the selections you want to make. If there is already options for this, I haven't found them.

I use "C" as my keybind because its right next to my thumb, I find that works the best for me

The "pick up / use item" command will work for this. I also haven't tested it but the lead command might also work (not sure about that one)

That's interesting because I was just playing 2 days ago with no issue. Perhaps try to reinstall the mods and/or use the "verify game files" option on steam.

Well, I just did it from the console by entering the command you told me "bots automation all" and nothing happened.
The only weird thing was that Coach apparently wanted to do something "weird" outside the store (exactly, he went to the left side of the store outside and stayed next to a green bench and won't leave). Also, after entering it in the console, I got the following message: "Unknown command: bots."
Then I tried the command from the game chat and nothing (I still don't think I should have entered it there, but I had nothing to lose by trying).

I think we'll have to wait for the creators to update the mod and implement the bots to go after the Coca-Cola cans when we give them the order. :(

Type in "bots automation all" into the in-game chat and see if the bots automatically deliver Whitaker's cola. If they do, great. If they don't, then you'll just have to hope the Left 4 Bots 2 dev updates his mod.

I’m not entirely sure, I think that would be a question for the L4B2 mod developer because giving cola to Whitaker is such a campaign-specific action.

The only thing I can think of that might work is to type in “bots automation all”, and hope the original dev manually put in a script that has the bots give the cola to Whitaker during that section. I believe I set the PlayerImWithYou voiceline to trigger the “automation all” script, but it’s not a specific option in this menu due to how rarely it’s used. (I think it is an option in my combined Ion’s Vocalizer + Smart Vocalizer mod though)

Part 2:
In this new version of the mod, I did the same thing, but the bot just opened the door and that's it.
Then I thought, "Maybe they changed the mechanics, and if I give it the order to pick up the Coke cans, it will go and give them to Whitaker." Whitaker," but the bot only had them in its hand and didn't go to give them to Whitaker. At times, it dropped the Coke cans when attacked, then looked for them, but didn't do the work of going and giving them to Whitaker.

So, I'd like to know if in this case I have to select any other specific option so the bot or bots can do jobs like this on their own.

I have a question
I was on the L4D2 street map where we have to go to a store and pick up some Coca-Cola cans and give them to Whitaker.
And I remember perfectly well that in Left 4 Bots 1, if we gave the order to the bots, they could go get the Coca-Cola cans and give them to Whitaker (and I always sent one of the bots to do that).
But now in this version 2 of the Left 4 Bots mod, I don't know if they changed that mechanic.
Because I remember that I first selected the bot, then looked at the store door, and finally, using the radial menu, I chose the option to give the bot the order to go get the Coca-Cola cans.

With this menu, can I give orders to bots to trigger certain events?
For example, in the third map of the first game (where there's a turret), we have to open a metal door using a switch.

Yes actually, if you bind the shortcut wheels, you can decide which wheels you want and which you don’t want. So you don’t have to bind the “throw” one at all.

It's great but, is there a way to completely turn off the "throw" options because sometimes Ill actually panick press it from the main menu and burn my entire team alive if we get cornered by a tank.
