It was indeed a mod, and, weirdly enoug, it's Starting Ruler Skillpoints .

The mod just stopped to work all of a sudden and I have no idea why... It is (very) likely due to one of the other mods I installed, but considering that they don't interact with the models, it's weird...

Strange. I don't know why, but this mod in particular doesn't seem to work.
All of the other Age of Fashion mods are working fine.

is there a way you can add the conical hat from the ways of war units. keep seeing it as option for hero re-adjust appearance, but not for main hero characters in custom faction. Or is there a variable I'm missing? does it only work for Way of war races?

I simply do not understand why your method (mix and match everything) isn't the default vanilla method. Without any new assests I can make a gazillion cool leaders and heroes. Clipping is totally avoidable and/or unrelevant.

It's a small detail but the mod names are a nice touch
