@5150 - It's tricky really, because I've noticed that sometimes the salt mood buff doesn't activate when it should, on both preserved food and preserved meals. I also don't want to make the ingredient for it a simple meal, because that wouldn't work well with any mod that adds food variety needs (ingredients only go one layer deep) and because it just feels a little weird to do.

How about changing the ingredient for Preserved Meal to Simple Meal? Currently, Preserved Meal includes salt as an ingredient and has its own mood debuff, but salt also provides a mood buff. I think it would be better to remove salt from the ingredients entirely.

- Added preserved meals
- Added two new taste thoughts, one for preserved food, and the other for preserved meals
- Fixed recipe base lacking requiredGiverWorkType
- Fixed preserved food preferability, now pawns will choose to eat the better preserved food instead of the raw meat laying on the floor (but still, of course, prefer meals)
- Fixed item descriptions
- Removed redundant code

@5150 - Initially, yes, since RimWorld has no vanilla thingCategory for fruits. However, since you commented that, I realized they probably aren't showing up in the item list on the left, so I'm going to push an update here in a minute to make them appear under PlantFoodRaw.

If I might suggest - to have it be not categorised as Meals, but as Raw Food? Unless it has caused other problems on your end with other mods?

Tbh it also balances itself out against the Food Preservation tech, as it.
Pros of the Food Preservation: Cheep, but takes time, you can't access produce during an unexpected shortage; works with meet only. This mod is more labour intensive, more expensive, but lets you preserve on the fly, when pawns have time, and doesn't disqualify Dried Meat - <3

@demonking100 - It's not really meant to be a meal mod though, it's just supposed to preserve ingredients like canning does, but for early-game tribes and medieval colonies. Perhaps I'll make a custom research for it that's alongside pemmican.

Might need to try this though the fact it's locked behind condiments might make me go "Why don't I just research ACs and make a freezer".

I'll try this on a tribal run and see how it feels but i like little ideas like this.

@denchik4577 - Yes, my mod does not make canned food, it makes jarred food. There is a difference. Also, even in Vanilla Cooking Expanded, canned food is NOT a ready to eat dish and likewise, my preservatives are not ready to eat meals either.

- Added the canning machine to the list of workbenches food can be jarred
- Added a patch for Vanilla Fishing Expanded that adds preserved fish
- Added support for Vanilla Plants Expanded's fruits (oops!)

@CollectorOfMyst - I'm working on the update right now (currently trying to find where I put my source art file for the jars) but I can definitely add the canning bench to the list.
