Why is there a negative 160 stability malice for adding 2 territories? And why is it only activated at the beginning of the medieval era? When was this added and why? Anti-snowballing is good but this is not how it ever should be done.

It's really too much with 180+ negative stability x 2. Had to disable it.

the only thing i dont like is that you can go into a new culture and then bam suddenly your entire empire is just fucked with the stability, even building garrisons, wonders, and religions being incapable of stopping it

Would you consider adding Southeast Asian dynasties to your Asian Dynasties mod? Half the reason I use the Super Pack of cultures is to play a Khmer type play-through anyway. I just downloaded it and am going to try it out with Immersive cultures. Like 90% of the time I do either a Khmer or Aztec type of play style.

If you correspond with the creator/curator of Culture Super Pack at some point, and add support for those cultures, this would easily be in the top three mods for the game, and the best gameplay mod by far. But for me, having to choose between this and CSP was tough. I haven't ventured to play with this mod enabled again, only because I love the cultures from Culture Super Pack, which really round out a lot of base game cultures so that you can play a nearly complete and decently realistic evolution of a single people through all ages. If you eventually added support for the Super Pack cultures, I would not play a single game without this mod. It's the best gameplay mod for the game, imho. And if you somehow found a way to make AI follow the logic for adhering to immersive culture switching, I believe many players would come to see this mod as an essential. I say this, from atop an altar of corpses in an empire of ruin - more plz.

Re: Aztec apocalypse; It was actually a pretty amusing playthrough. I've never been so infuriated and yet so entertained while losing. It was very fitting for Aztecs, can't even be mad. It really felt like I was an Aztec, sacrificing my people to bloodthirsty gods for one crumb of stability. I had figured the problem was largely caused by incompatibility with Culture Superpack, thus missing the stability buffer. I noticed there's an option to turn off the stability penalty now lol. The rest of that game, the stability penalty felt perfect. I think -3 or -4 stability for Aztecs would be good; -5 definitely seemed too much, even if I had had the stability buffer. I wouldn't want to turn it off entirely though. Playing around the stability issues that come with exploiting a culture's temporary era trait really adds a lot to the game. It really feels like you're fighting entropy in a way that is unique to your culture. It's a very well designed, immersive mechanic.

They are not compatible. You can load CSP after Asian Dynasties but units from Asian Dynasties wont have a technology prerequirement

@Olorin I wanted to do something like that but it isn't possible with mod tools and whatever I edit and boost the AI doesn't follow my desired directions.
However there is a mod that edits the games files with BepInEx which locks culture picks based on territory on a huge Earth map so in theory it would be possible to lock culture picks based on this mod's regional effect. But I have no experience in coding so it isn't something I would be able to do.

Hey, looks like a very interesting mod !
I was wondering, would it be possible technically to limit the culture choices by Continent/Regional Bonuses ? Like, if you pick an Asian culture first, you can only pick other Asian cultures until the end of the game etc... (not for your main mod but as a submod or something, I could look into it too if that's possible)
Also, another question, is the AI encouraged to use those Regional Bonuses ?

@Hephest I noticed what an anomaly. For the Babylonians, the Tower of Babylon says i gives +10 Stability, but has the Influence icon.

My apologize for asking here, but can't find any help from modding community because amplitude's forum community is dead. Did you know which element I need to override to remove stability penalty from overpopulation? Can't anything close to it beside penalty stability from districts.

@Melkor Unchained Sorry your playthrough was ruined! Although thats hillarious and exactly how I imagined aztecs falling apart. I think there are two reasons for that mess. First is I probably overdid it with -5 stabilit per pop, other Cultures only have -2 stability per pop but I wanted Aztecs to be high risk high reward. Gonna reduce it. Second reason is my spaghetti coding. You should recieve +40 stability per era that helps you to offset the population you aquired from previous eras. But the bonus is tied to picking a base game Culture in the first era because I didn't know how to do it any other way.

@mr.guacamole.36 Short answer: Humankind modding tools. Long answer: Every Culture has a Legacy Trait except Mongols and Huns who have what's called within modding tools a Civilization Trait. Civilization trait is only active while you are that culture. So I created a Civilization Trait for other Cultures. However the Civilization trait doesn't appear in the Culture select UI. So I had to create an additional "Fake" Legacy Trait that has 0 values but I manually write the information the Civilization Traits are supposed to give (this is why there is no other languages localization, sorry!). As for the Regional bonuses you create a "fake" legacy trait effect (which you have to do for every era) which is a part of the Civilization trait and then within the Civilization trait effect you give a bonus that is dependent on the Culture having the said Regional fake legacy trait effect.

@Ajbuck13 As you can see Iam really inconsistent so I doubt I will ever go beyond cultures in the base game+dlcs. Every Culture needs like 10 files within the mod manager and then within those files there is like 10 lines making it messy and convoluted really quick.

Switched to Aztecs in medieval era, from the classical era Teotihuacano culture (mod culture from the popular Culture Super Pack). The "-5 stability per empire population count on all cities" from your mod had me at like -670 stability everywhere, and all cities were dropping to 0 stability minus infinity. I was sacrificing my population left and right to build altars for stability. I sacrificed half my empire's population at least, and it still only got up to like -300 ish stability. I don't know if this is how Aztecs are supposed to play with this mod, or if it's a bug or some bad interaction with the culture from the other mod, but I had to quit. RIP Aztecs - The beating hearts of a hundred thousand men, women and children lying upon our altars was still not enough to appease the stability gods.

I tried to make the AI change to cultures from the same region by adding fake boosts (for example americas region giving massive food priority, indies region giving massive industry priority). So that an AI persona thats focused on building would only go indies cultures. Sadly after testing it doesn't seem to push the AI to the desired paths. This is the only thing I could mod so yeah sadly I cannot mod the AI to do "historic culture swapping"...
