I meant to clarify that these were the bugs that popped up in version 1.6 from my quick fix attempt (basically I just updated some of the GUI drawing code to the new way RimWorld does it)

@Nova I did a little tinkering with the mod and was able to get it to save/load the map and colonists just fine, but I noticed that it had trouble when it came to other things. Got some errors from trying to save/load hostiles and mechanoids which I think led to wildlife not loading too. I'm just curious were you able to have all of this saved without problems in 1.5? There's just so many variables to serialize and keep track of it's a wonder you were able to get this to work 0.o

Fyi I'm just bringing this up because I'm running into the same issues in my mod too... can't properly save LordManagers for things like defoliator ship and ancient danger... not sure how to fix

All mountains are transparant when loading a map. My guess is that it's regrowth causing issues, but I am unsure.

Great mod. For anyone experiencing issues with Project RimFactory storage, this mod does not correctly transfer storage contents that are in the Digital Storage Units or similar storage. It will save like 12 random items (seems like all apparel even if no apparel was in that DSU).

It does work with some other storage mods including Reel's Expanded Storage. My solution for now is to move all contents from DSUs to Steel Containers and then deal with organizing back into DSUs after the map transfer.

where do i place map saver for map saver actually work 100% sure? i load my map but a lot of resource (inside adaptive storage mod) gone and only left like 10% of it

Tried this with a rather extensive mod list, with this mod very near the bottom of the list. The physical map itself mostly saved, mountains, water, etc. but an arbitrary chunk of my wooden walls decided to vanish, collapsing the roof. Also it seems to randomly save and restore my pawns, regardless which option i choose. Sometimes one pawn saves, sometimes five, sometimes more.

Problems aside, most likely mod-compat problems, this seems like an extremely useful utility.

@jacobellinger Depending on the complexity of the map, it might take a while to load, freezes are expected as long as you can check the game is doing something (Check task manager, in the case of Windows).

the mod work like charm to reset my progress after removing some mod ... but i noticed

1. VFE Mechanoid drone get duplicate , i own 4 autohauler and after use the map saver ... it multiply while they use same charging spot

2. All my livestock animal become named and i cant remove the name like "muffalo 6079"

Sorry, answered my own question:


If anyone else didn't notice, after importing, you have to "claim" everything on the map before it functions normally.

Is it intentional that half of the buildings that get imported from the save are not recognized by the active game?

Most modded buildings either don't function at all, or are recognized but treated as if they belong to some other faction, and therefore cannot be used for work.

Beds lose all options to assign them for example. Buildings from Rimfeller refuse to function at all, and have to be dismantled and rebuilt.

Is there a mod conflict or is this intentional or a known bug?

Really cool mod, I’ve been keeping the same game going longer than I have before due to stuttering etc. thanks to this mod. Just one question though, is it possible to have the ideology specific buildings (wall lights, tables, carpet, etc.) save with the map or is this not possible? Great mod though!

@Creation Hey there! I'm working on another serializing method to be able to fully save the map. It's a bit unstable so I haven't published it yet, all those things should be able to be saved completely when it gets released

Some issue i found

with origin game:
1, the floor paint cannot be saved with the map
2,batters would be empty
with mod:
1, the reactor and some other container building from Rimatomics wound be empty
(i guess it's for the same reason the batters are empty)

i fully understand that objects cannot be saved with the map, so the only problem that i think should be seen as a issue is the first floor paint one

When loading a saved map, items on the ground and in containers are saved and still exist, however if you're using modded containers such as those from Adaptive Storage it seems to only save one item per cell of that container. I'm unsure if this is the case with vanilla shelves, or if there's any way to fix this!

A method to refresh my save? Nice! Events and quests are probably going to have issues as a result, but I can always deal with those later on. Probably.

Map tiles. You can save worlds with "World Presets"

(Fun fact: Combining this mod with World Presets can potentially restore slow performance on long lasting playthroughs if you load your planet & map under a new scenario. This is a similar method Save our Ship 2 uses for planet travel, which also works with these two mods.)
