lasers are suboptimal for torpedos, the small gun turrets are significantly better. Large quantites on enemy ships are there to be captured, giving the player the option to also launch large torpedo waves. (+by the point where the really large ships should be encountered hundreds of point defence turrets could be raised.)

You've clearly overdone it with torpedoes. While the player is gathering resources and crafting them, NPCs get a whole mountain for free and launch them in a gigantic wave. The game doesn't have proper defense against torpedoes in such quantities. Even if you split dozens of defensive lasers into several volleys, the NPCs will still drown the player in torpedoes.

Huh sort of forgot i made this for a bit, job stuff and whatnot. Anyways, added the number to the list, nothing else had to be changed, as it already worked in 1.6 (probably because sos2 added nothing new with the 1.6 update)

Hmm, 1.6 might just be as simple as switching arround a few numbers, will look at doing so when i have some spare time.

Notice: This will likely be discontinued by the time 1.6/That dlc rolls out, exept maybe if the files would be convertable (doubt it but maybe)

That should be fine. However it would be nice to have an option that allows the player to adjust whether or not each type of ship will appear in game.

If you were to attack it only the very front left part of the ship will spawn, as only fleet maps are allowed to be larger on steam. Github has a fix to also allow single maps, so there the entire ship will spawn.

Yea the blueprints reference sos2 files, so now loading after sos2 is required. I wounder how I could add that as rimsort sorting info. The vanilla sorter always loads dependants after dependencies anyways, so ig just sort rimsort lists with vanilla before loading for now.

Right after posting this I think I fixed the issue. Rimsort puts "Low-Tech Ship pack for SOS2" above "Save our Ship 2". Moving it lower in my mod list, below "Save our Ship 2", got rid of the error.

Hi, I am getting an error that I think happens when I enable this mod. I am using the recommended SOS2 version you have in the description. I have been able to reproduce the error with a minimum amount of mods installed as well.

I don think all the ships should be Blueprints, especially the very large and very small ones. I'll pick a few good candidates and make blueprints.

Just added a gif to the description that should show you how to do it. If you did it like its shown, and it doesent work, there is likely a mod conflict.

I feel like i'm close to being able to spawn one in but I found the list you suggested using in comments and tried a bunch of those on the list and I don't even get an error when trying to import and then entering ones from the list into the little box. Not sure what i'm doing wrong maybe I missed something. I think I also read some wheres I could enter them into the console. Maybe this is above my head. I feel like i'm so close not trying to do anything crazy just trying to get a ship loaded thats beyond the basic on you start with in the derelict scenario.

the CK is a seperate mod, found here: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2105531392&searchtext=content+creation Install it, and a new build menue tab will appear, in which there are buttons to load specific ships and such. clicking the load ship button will pop up a input box, where a ship def is to be instered, refer to the comments for a list. Generally About the ship picking scenario: there already is, although to a limited extent. in a prior update i tagged 3 ships as starters, so they can be selected when editing one of the scenarios that start in space from standart sos2.

How do I access the content creation kit to load a ship? I use dev mode all the time so I don't have to completely restart but never had to use the creation kit your talking about?

Might make your mod more accessible to people if you gave a little tutorial of how to do it.
Or maybe a scenario that lets you pick from ships would be awesome to
Anyway not sure what is possible for you to do here just making suggestions. I would be fine with a simple explanation

you can spawn them in with devmode either by using the content creation kit, or using the "load ship from database" button when selecting a core/console. the defnames can be found in a list somewhere in the comments below

I remember these blast cage ships! Very imaginative silhouettes, I love it.
Also, it's amusing to imagine an entire naval battleship got to that size without shields. I always thought SOS2 needed more silly encounters.

I do Love nuclear reactors, its just that i though diesel powered ships would fit in more with the Low tech theme.

The should be under Start in space-station, as they are tagged as that; I guess the most obvious out of the 3 would be the cargo ship, click on the "Random" button below the "station" button to check the list of loaded defs, there you could also select them, if they are not in that list, make sure you have the latest version of the mod, so just unsubscribe and resubscribe, steam should re download.

The load ship button is not the one to use, the start in space component is, load ship is for starting a game with a vesel you previously went interstellar with @Nebulous.

Getting (i assume encountering/overtaking) should be as easy as waiting in space untill one attacks you, or gets scanned by you @Eidorian.

For starting? In that case: Scenario editor -> add component -> "Start in space" -> Random to station -> The 3 ships available for starting should be in that List.

The "Start in space" Component has a ship selection. The 3 starter ships will appear there. Select one and your good to go.
