Hello. I am getting invisible bodies with the Standard Bearers.

@Snek just a small detail I noticed. Some of the Standard Bearers' textures and body parts go invisible at times even at Ultra settings with no other mods running. Thank you for the mod

Banner mount dont work at all i didnt even get him when i spend hero skill point, other mounts work properly, nice idea, elite cavarly with captain is best :D

Love the Idea for this, hopefully there will be a patch to make this work with Empire hero skill trees expanded (it kinda partially does already)

People are digging the standard bearer mount idea, and I've already done the hard part at figuring out how to build the unit in a way I'm really happy with, so yes, I'm going to expand that idea to other races where it fits.

@Mortarch of Blood I have actually had almost exactly that idea before for Warhammer 2! I imagined it as a submod to Mixus Legendary Lords, giving each empire province a Greatsword ROR which could be assigned a custom banner only available for Greatswords. I don't recall if Mixus LLs still has that banner for a Greatsword bodyguard, but I do already have an unused Greatsword reskin.

In Mark of Chaos, its said that Greatswords are the body guard unit to the elector count, so perhaps a custom unit for each of the elector counts as mounts? That would be effin' sweet but you're already a busy guy! xD

I plan to keep them separate. I want Extra Variants to remain a purely cosmetic mod.

No, it would mean some textures aren't copied over into this mod from my resource file. I'll look at that tonight.

I honestly think a body guard unit is what every cavalry-tier mount should be (like in older Total Wars), instead of a single entity on a horse. For that matter, any character on a basic "horse" level mount should also get a significant campaign map movement range buff. Maybe I'll make that happen as well.

I find that 'bodyguards as mounts' also simply function better. There are a few mods on the Workshop that do something similar, and (for me) they always seem to have more utility. Their damage output is more consistant due to how targeting functions.
I'll certainly download further mods that add new types of mounted bodyguards to other characters/factions.

The bodyguards and standard bearer as a mounts, I feel would be a good addition to characters like Paladins, Thane's, etc. I may either expand on that myself or assist any modder who asks to borrow the idea to make that happen. I hated duplicating work for mounts that other modders have put out, but I really wanted to see new mounts done in a way that us natively compatible with my Extra Variants project.

Yes, should be save game compatible, though I don't know if the automatic unlock works if you add it after some captains have passed the level threshold.
