so much combo potential bro holy nerf this

Pretty fun, but a few things don’t feel the most balanced. Smite feels a little too strong for only a couple levels of super. No real good ways to DI out of it, even when far in a combo. Also, for a character with multiple hard knockdowns, it feels way too easy to hit a move that hits OTG and continue the combo for far longer than it should go on for. Maybe I’m just bad at fighting him, but he feels just a little too powerful and oppressive to really feel good and fun fighting against him.

He is incredibly versatile. It feels like if the opponent is in any semblance of stun, then Hoplite can immediately rip them in half. I would make it so that he can't return his shield and spear so quickly, or maybe that it requires super, but either way, he really has no vulnerable spots to attack even when throwing his weapons, so he can just continuously poke and throw his weapons with little resistance.

Tbh while a balanced mod in most things, I don't like how smite has enough hit stun on hit with almost no way to counter with DI that it does not feel good to play against. Feels like an impale that can be comboed off of.

There's a bug either with this mod for the Toji mod that makes it where there is a desync whenever hiding UI while watching a replay.

Why is this crashing my game?

i love these BSide mods, makes the game sill feel like yomih but adds more characters

The crash seems to be fixed on my end, managed to play both a singleplayer and a multiplayer match to completion without issues (despite using Smite multiple times), both were quite enjoyable.

The no weapons stance is so fucking raw i love it

Hoplite needs to get actual sadness for zoning. They seem to not get much sadness for throwing out spears and shields then recalling them and waiting. Their super move also doesn't get sadness. https://youtu.be/gn8vTxDl-nw Here is my video for evidence. My character, Spellblade, is zoning out Halite so they can get in and punish his zoning. I have to worry about running into him since I get sadness, but the Halite player never has to.

this is so flipping cool! i love the mixups potential and crazy stance changes, but i still prefer fencer more for his elegance and sassiness, i really hope the rework can make fencer even fancier! cant wait!!!!!!

So for some reason reinstalling the mod fixed the smite crash. Great character btw very fun mechanic's, God bless!

I've been told by some other modders that this is a bug caused by ivy's code and that it is also affecting other characters. However, I am still trying to look into it as best as I can because it did also break on me when I tried to view a replay of Hoplite (which sucks ass)

Anyways, if I do find a workaround, I will push out a hotfix to hopefully fix this

I also forgot to mention that I did verify my files, delete my character cache, and reinstall the mod to make sure it wasn't the old version that forgot to update.

Still seems to crash, oddly enough smite works without crashing on the first game using him, but always crashes and nulls the character on the second game using smite. Amazing character though, might be my new main.

Very nice. This mod feels like an actual YOMI character by the dev team.

Hello everyone, Smite crash should be fixed
Do make sure to Verify your Game Files to ensure that this update is properly installed as I forgot to do the thing that makes Steam do that automatically for you (whoops).
Anyways, hope this actually fixes the bug and now you can play Hoplite with Smite :)

To those experiencing Smite crashes, give me a day or two to come up with a fix, as I had previously encountered this issue and thought I had fixed it.

In the meantime, do delete character cache and verify files again, that should at least not have it be null
