Both mods edit the character_event.gui so they are incompatible, sorry
It doesn't crash for me, very likely it is a conflict with a submod. To be sure put my mod last on your modlist so it overwrites all other character_window files of other submods, though maybe my isn't the problem because editing the event window shouldn't cause crashes.

As I said, if the mod is set to be loaded at the top of the modlist it shouldn't cause any issues apart from the fact that vanilla events touched by other mods and new events will look different from others. It's a visual incompatibility, nothing else.
The true down side is that the mod author will need to update this mod frequently, to account Paradox changes on vanilla events after every patch.
