It isn't even about confusing players but just looking bad. That much region being paintable just isn't appropriate even if it's not gonna cause recognition issues.

This cosmetic increases Scout's team recognition colours more than his default shirt; if there's any reason why you somehow thing that sliver of undershirt being painted slate is going to confuse players, then that sounds like a you problem.
