can we just like not be able to color the hood please? i like this cosmetic, its a nice reference to the snifit/shy guy but like y'know, if you want another paintable region just do it for the white rims or something.

Yes, I do play this game you can check my steam inventory and see my merc badge dates to august 2011 and i have over 5k hours in tf2. you can also search for the water waters and flavorful baggies are also in my inventory with very specific paints.

Pyromancer's mask, water waders, and the flavorful baggies with colour similar to slate and mann co. orange (i have 2 sets. one for each team) I tested this myself and yes it does trick a LOT of players.

I have been able to walk from red side to blue side on viaduct, dustbowl 3rd (the first point and second point) without getting shot at! infact i went down the tunnel on dustbowl 3rd on the second control point. Got behind the blue team and was able to just sit there until an engie built a sentry and then i had to move and got caught out. Multiple people saw me ran right at me and turned to go fight at the choke before that sentry got placed.

this happened multiple times and this cosmetic would only make things worse.

Just keep the mask paintable (or even just the eyes) the reference is subtle enough ig

Do the people whining about team/class recognition actually play the game? I have never had an experience where I couldn't tell what class a player was or what team they're on, even when they're clearly trying to confuse people for a bit.

okay, why make the problem worse? why intentionally add a cosmetic that hurts team recognition even further.

if you want a paint region why not have it be the white bits around the eyes and mouth on the mask itself and leave the team colour alone.

Cool idea and it looks nice, but I am really not a fan of the hood paint region. I think k it would be better to have an alternate style paint the rims if anything, but not the whole head.

Cute reference to the Snifit enemy from Mario, thought personally I wish the paint region only applied to all the grey areas on the mask rather than the actual base or head as to not disrupt with the team recognition. Too many cosmetics have gotten way too comfortable putting massive paint regions on their items for a very long time now and because there's too many items in the game already that do this, it's really turning the game into a visual nightmare.

Kinda sucks because I'm a huge fan of when cosmetics reference other games in a subtle way, while also being passed off as it's own thing is really cool.

If it wasn't for that large paint region I'd honestly love to see this get in.

i really like it other than the style 1 paint region, i would be fine with it if pyro didn't also have hats with paint regions almost fully covering the other parts of his body

It's fascinating ow people have such an issue with pyro having head items with paint regions, considering his default mask is grey by default and this was never really an issue.

Yes, the upper part of the class's silhouette is the most important part of team recognition, but the upper torsos bulk of the arms & chest that you'll be able to make out from all sides is what'd you'd be immediately identifying first; centre mass, essentially.

The head's very likely the second thing you'll be looking at, but even then, Pyro's had 11+ years of head replacements that've been paintable & hats to go with it.
