making items that don't stylistically fit TF2 is one thing, but making items that fuck with the gameplay have no place in the game, period.
The only time I ever see people get confused by cosmetics is that one pyro loadout that obscures team recognizable colors.
It'd also confuse the fuck outta new players too probably lol
That being said, I love the design and think it's a cool little guy.
"Gameplay breaking" should mean exactly that... it either breaks the game's code, or it allows players to do things or access places in the map they shouldn't be able to. Like the Scream Fortress spell that shrinks players down to the size of a mouse which allowed them to exploit tiny gaps in map geometry a normal player would never be able to reach, and get outside/below the map.
In short, no. That not how cosmetics works. You can make something without it being distracting in any way both conceptually and design wise.
You're underestimating players, if you think that they will misfire just because of little bot around them.
