If anyone is wondering what the hell is this thing suppose to be (as far as I see), it resembles a Jiangshi, or hopping vampire from Chinese folklore that drains its victims of their qi, or life force, often dressed in garments common to those of officials of the Qing Dynasty. The yellow strip of paper is a fulu, which are Taoist symbols and incantations meant to drive away evil written on strips of paper. As much as I want to add more detail, I figured I don’t want this to turn into a college lecture.
