Yeah it really feels like the AI makes enclaves. Really messes up the empire building of the AI

Would be possible if you could make a mod that would make he AI only colonize the ruined settlements in its own and neighboring provinces?

I tried several play through's with this and it's really annoying that the AI travels several provinces over just to colonize a ruined settlement.

I updated the Ai's responsiveness to unclaimed land so that they don't sail across the map to settle new land.

Yes, I fixed it to limit the distance they travel to do that, I am still testing however.

Hey hi -- have you found that any adjustments you make have an effect on the lengths the AI goes to settle distant razed lands? I started a Sherden campaign for the first time and am seeing Egyptian factions sailing up far north in the first 10-15 turns to resettle land I raze.

"CAI_TMS_TASK_GENERATOR_ATTACK_REGIONS_NEIGHBOURNIG_OWN_REGIONS_ABANDONED" This is to prioritize the attack on an abandoned region (which is not protected by other enemy forces, we are talking about a region and province owned by the AI)

Problem is the AI is ignoring any and all transgressions towards it from other AI factions just to shadow me around the map to re colonize any regions I raze. Bay has essentially created a massive empire off of re settling my razed lands lol. Turn 70 right now and he's yet to declare war on anyone, literally just sailing around following me and scooping up settlements after I raze them.

If the AI nation isn't at war with anyone and it's settlements are upgraded, its armies replenished, and their women and children are warm at night then yes they will sail to colonize. But if they have other actions to perform then most of them will have a higher priority than resetllement.

@☩ Armoured ☩ I'm playing vanilla Sherden right now and the AI is literally going out of it's way to sail across the ocean to colonize my razed settlements in Anatolia. It's pretty crazy. I might go in to the files and reduce the AI priority for resettling razed settlements. Seems like the priority was increased after this latest patch by CA.

@Chuck, true in a way but generally speaking your sherden campaign wont be affected significantly. The priority that I've set is higher than vanilla but not high enough for the AI to ignore all other tasks and focus on resettlement.

@Butthole Police it's going to make the Sherden campaign victory conditions harder to achieve though, because their victory points depends on how many regions stay razed. If you razed a settlement, you have to keep it razed essentially.

Definitely seems a bit overtuned still. Enemy armies will regularly ignore me to settle cities while we are at war and I am threatening their territory

Maybe you can tweak it a little bit and reduce the priority, right now the factions seem to drop every´thing just to beeline ruins tho

@ Kendji, yes i agree but i thought people might be a bit impatient. In my personal files it is set to 100. It does colonize but it will take quite a bit of time.

Thanx for the mod, give you a thumbs up! I'm poking around the files to see if a more moderate version of the mod would be possible for my mod Kendji's Flavour Pack in some way. I might want there to be some 'delay' between colonizing, not like it is currently in vanilla with almost none. But if I understand your work properly 1500 makes the AI colonizing top priority. Like what if the priority was 500 or 1000 instead of the frequent 1500? Does the AI not colonize at all at those points?

Btw, you have a misspelling at line 3316 ;)
