If you're talking about "Max Ragdolls" slider under the utilities tab, it won't matter what you have it set to, as long as you have "Keep Corpses" unchecked in the NPCs tab there will be no more than 10 ragdolls on the map (I just checked and played the map to confirm this just for you). Also, there is no alternative that I know of.

i use reagdoll, which breaks if keep corpses is turned on. Is there any alternative i could use?

I just fixed the corpse issue limiting max corpses to 10. Be sure you have 'keep corpses' turned off in your in-game settings under NPC.

I'm glad you like it! I personally don't have any problems and my PC is low end. Make sure you have 'keep Corpses' turned off in gmod. That should eliminate any issues, as dead corpses should delete over time if you don't have keep corpses turned on.

do you think you could make a version that spawns less combine? after a while all the ragdolls begin to lag the game for my little potato

The phases last until you defeat all the combine troops. The screen messages will prompt you. Mind you there are 2 scenarios where NPCs will spawn infinitely but I made it pretty obvious (by on-screen prompts) what NPCs will spawn infinitely.

im at the part where the combine elite squads are attacking after destroying the console in the diner. how long is this segment? ive killed a bunch of these guys but they keep coming back. same with the zombies, is there a way to stop them? ive killed so many that the ragdolls are starting to lag the game a little

I get a persistent 60 FPS with vsync on and I only get stutters/semi-lag during those sequences I described below in my last post. I hate unoptimization myself, so I work hard to make sure my maps are optimized as best as possible.

Mind you I have a budget PC myself, so I did focus on optimizations (I scaled the lightmap scale higher (which is less processing) on the brush textures for instance which helps a lot on certain surfaces).

Try lowering anti-aliasing to x2 MSAA and filtering mode to trilinear as well as disable windows areo extensions in your advanced video settings in options in gmod, that can help.

Post-gmod12 (years ago) gmod 13 is more resource intensive from the get-go.

Its already optimized, there are no map leaks, double brushes or persistent flashing lights.

If you turned the flashing lights and fog on in the strip club that will cause lag, source isn't too good with flashing lights and high particles. Check to see if you didn't keep them turned on if you're experiencing persistent lag.

My PC is very low-end and it runs well for me, if you're experiencing lag during the gunship battle or the final phase (when the citizens arrive) it is because there is a lot of scripting/entity functions going on, not much I can do there.

What kind of lag are you experiencing exactly?
