Sorry, everyone - I've been consumed by school, but I'd like to update this at some point soon in the future.

this sounds like such a great mod especially if paired with agot, will it come back?
I feel like this should more be chance based and have multiple variables rather then just opinion since it would be a serious crime and risk to not provide levies for their liege.

Still working on this - workplace was on strike the last few weeks, so I've been distracted, but update coming I swear haha

Nice, this will up the challange when letting AI skip this
Working on an update - rewriting from the ground-up to include regents, and a game rule for it only affecting lieges who are players, more logical vassal behavior (accounting for military strength, etc.), incorporate legitimacy somehow, and let AI withhold levies outside of war if they need the extra soldiers for themselves for some reason.

I like that idea, too... might keep the scope of this mod limited, though, just so that it doesn't do too much. More modular that way. Vassals sending more men sounds like anti belligerence haha Really looking forward to RtP, I hope it doesn't disappoint.
[Army of Two] AXIS 2024
What Skywalker is talking about is interesting, as the more rich vassals you have the more powerful MAAs they will send.
But that is maybe outside this mods concept.. maybe it will be easier to do once RtP release
Is it possible for vassals to contribute MAA and knights instead of levies?
Or is it impossible because of the game engine?

I know it sounds to OP and it is effectively done in other mods like More interactive subjects and Immersive warfare but I feel it is kind of weird that our vassals who serve as knights don't have with them their own knights to protect them.

I do want to include Legitimacy somehow, though the way I was thinking was to have withholding/refusing levies ding the legitimacy of the vassals - as if they lose legitimacy by not upholding their contracts. But perhaps it makes more sense to have the ruler lose legitimacy if people pull support from them.

A game rule where only players vassals are affected is a good idea... definitely would up the challenge.
[Army of Two] AXIS 2024
AND vassals who refuse could hurt legitimacy of the ruler too.. The more vassals the more it hurts legitimacy of the ruler, and the more they withold the more punishing it is per vassal.

Ultimately it can spiral, as it increasingly shows the liege isnt actually in control wich hurts perception of the liege , even loyal vassals with good opinion will get influenced by the legitimacy drop.
[Army of Two] AXIS 2024
Just an additional idea, but maybe a game rule for this to only apply to player. This way the player will have more to handle, but the AI which is limited in talent can appear more solid, which increase difficulty and threat levels to player?
Now I'm considering whether one should be able to choose how many levies they want to withhold, from a little to all of them, with increasing risk of penalties based on a skill check 🤔 also whether AI would also withhold levies when liege is not at war for personal reasons (i.e. if they need the extra levies to fight off peasants).
Okay, added a Minor Decision for Players so one can adjust their levy obligation level at will. It occurred to me that one might want to withhold or deny levies outside of a liege's war (like if you needed them to defend against an uprising, or support your own independent war efforts). Currently there is still the imprisonment/revocation penalty applied to vassals who refuse levies, even outside of war, but I'm going to tweak that eventually so that one only gets that penalty if refusing levies while their liege is at war. Also, "Rebellious Activity" may no longer be a suitable name for this kind of behavior, since in some cases it may just be looking after one's self without specifically trying to undermine one's liege.
@An-Average-Araminty Oh, I like the idea of a skill check, maybe based on diplomacy or intrigue... good idea, thank you.

Also, I'm working on a new update - allowing the player to choose (via Decision) to withhold/deny levies at any time, but with increased penalties if it happens during war time. If they're withholding/denying levies and their liege goes to war, they'll be given the option to increase/restore their obligations.

If you wanted to change the text to be a bit more grounded in historical the characters would never say "I am not honoring my oath", the characters would say "YOU didn't honor our oaths so I owe you nothing". The convenient thing about this excuse is that given how fragmented and vague vassalage obligations were, it's almost inevitable that both parties can blame the other of breaking faith in any kind of dispute. This is how this era could feature nearly constant minor wars between different vassals or vassals and lieges with all parties claiming not to be criminals.

If you wanted to keep this from being a free imprisonment reason, you could make a skill check to attempt to prove that it's legally their fault not yours which would probably cost you some money and prestige whether you succeed or fail.
Lector Owl 2024
u should add a decision to call the bannermen who refuses to send their levies to the capital to answer for their disobedience, and if they refuse they become a criminal! :D
K, added the rule, I think it's all working as expected 👍
@Wagram Yah, I know what you mean. I think I'll add a rule that one can adjust as the penalty for resfusing levies. Maybe three options - title revocation, imprisonment, or both, with... imprisonment being the default?
I really like the idea of this mod, will play with it when I can.

"Lieges will get a title revocation reason on vassals who completely refuse to provide levies."

Thats too OP I think (for a player perspective), a imprisonment reason would be much better
[Army of Two] AXIS 2024
Then the threshold for them to join a faction maybe?
I had considered that... but I think one can only be in a single faction at a time, so I didn't want to yank them out of any other factions they might already be in 🤔 hmm...
[Army of Two] AXIS 2024
Maybe tie the refusers to a faction, so that you have the right to revoke by law, but if they are 3 who either refuse or hold back a lot of levies etc they find each others company in a faction which protects them from being cut off one by one.

Kinda like a alliance/club of haters
@Kenshin The AI doesn't count military power at the moment, but it definitely should - I'm going to be adding that. I also considered having other belligerent vassals join in on any civil wars that breaks out as a result of a liege attempting (and failing) to revoke the title of a vassal who had refused to provide levies.
impressive. Does the AI count the military power provided by vassals? That's the key issue cause AI may declare unwise war if they doesnt

This is my first mod for Crusader Kings III, and it has been quite the learning experience. I'm still not completely satisfied with how this mod operates (as mentioned, it sometimes feels more like a streamlined getting rid of vassals who don't like you) so I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions you may have in how it might be improved or changed!
