Your mod sounds sick, however I have a problem. Whenever I start up Rimworld, I get this error which has to do with the fact that I don't have the Royalty DLC installed. I hope the issue gets resolved.

By the way, I'm thinking of developing my own Oni character, who through a series of chance events, became a member of a motley crew of at least three, including a Bogleg who acts like a mob boss. I can imagine her being the one who keeps his ego in check, haha.

If you didn't know there is multiple levels to the eye just keep taking the blessing up to 3 i think, makes casting black fire faster i think

Huh, I have a pawn with the oni horn gene and the dark fire gene, but when clicking the dark fire ability nothing happens, am I missing something?

Do anyone else has this issue where your oni just refuse to go to bed even when they're assigned to sleep schedule? Mine fell on the ground due to extreme exhaustion and I gave her 9 hours of sleep time which she then proceed to spend all of it on staring at a table for social relaxation

I have same problem.
After syaringan transplant surgery that my oni xeno can't get syaringan hediff.

another oni xeno,she eat OX_OniDust_SyarinAwakening twice and get SyarinAwakening heidff x2.

kaigan doesn't work for her
it like nothing happened and get Syarinentropy.
what i missing?

Attempting to install Syarin Eye into any pawn, no matter if Oni or any other xenotype, just makes the eye disappear without any effect. How is it actually supposed to work?

Reporting in to anyone with the same issue: being a vampire (Scarless gene) eventually heals "lack of horn".

Well, if there's full compatibility of the original mod with all the DLCs then i'm out of ideas why tribal oni backstories don't give Natural Meditation Focus.

Alright, actually took time to read fully through the description. That is absolute nonsense being a "fork" of the race mod. It is missing 90% of the actual content and compatibility patches (Including CE) from the race mod.

There is full compatibility with all DLCs in the race mod. This xenotype mod only took things relevant to making the xenotype from biotech, so that got overlooked.

Also, this is not a fork of the race mod. I never gave such permission to make a fork of it.

As for backstories - i wholeheartedly don't remember anymore if the original mod did that too. It's not that big of an issue, just breaking the immersion a little bit sometimes.
But what about Natural Medidation Focus for tribal backstories? Wiki says that "most tribal backstories give access to this focus", and that all children born in the New Tribe colony will have it.
Original mod author stated that he doesn't want to lock any content behind DLCs, so they probably never added any compatibility for Royalty and meditation, but this fork doesn't have to have the same limitations.

Tested the update.

Empire is no longer hostile to new Oni tribe, thanks.
However, i've noticed that the scenario is giving us 5 pawns to take without any spares to chose from, where the usual tribal scenario gives us to chose 5 out of 8. It's not anything big, and it's extremely easy to fix with the editor, but i have to ask if this is intended, because some people like the limited amount to choise as opposed to no choice, and prefer not to roll colonists.

The description of Featherleaf Plant still copies Smokeleaf Plant, saying that it could be rolled into joints at the crafting spot, which is not a thing.

@Selen Thx. It should be fixed now. As for backstories, Idk. It shouldn't probably be normal pawn as you said. And I borrowed entire things from the original mod about backstories, and I won't change its properties.

Attempting to make Feathered Oni Wrap at either Crafting Spot or Oni Crafting Spot just deletes the materials and nothing gets produced. Haven't tried at the Clothing Bench yet.

The description of the Featherleaf Plant states it could be rolled into a smoke joint at a crafting spot, but Smokeleaf Joint recipe does not allow Featherleaf Plants, and neither regular crafting spot nor Oni crafting spot have an option for a Featherleaf Joint. Is this a mistake or i am missing something?

Shame. I don't really want to use HAR since the release of biotech, doesn't feel right to me anymore.

Due to how FactionDefs are named this mod makes Empire permanently hostile to your faction if you start with any of the Oni scenarios, is this intended? I had to manually include oni player tribe into the list of exclusions in the game files.

I've met some non-oni pawns in the world with oni backstories. Is it intended? The description of someone without claws "struggling to do things with their claws" doesn't seem right.

None of the oni tribal backstories give natural meditation focus. Is this intended? I thought all or almost all tribal backstories are supposed to give natural meditation focus.

They won't have that because they're not the real Oni race. This xenotype expansion's gimmick is having its own eyes related mechanic. Although nothing stopping you from using Oni of the Rim race mod and have an Oni get this xenotype.

Moyo got their own xenotype stuff built into their race mod if I recall, or at least was worked on last I checked.
I let someone else make this new xenotype variation as they had an idea to use the Oni assets for it.

I really loved Oni's yellow-black eyes that stare deep into your sould from the original mod. Is it possible to somehow include them in the art as a togglable option, perhaps?

i get another problem now.
oni xeno have kaigan and amaterasu now.
but kaigan doesn't work for me.
click kaigan and get 2 sec Syarin heat (safe) hediff.
it just act like nothing happened

@xkp92110(orick) OX_OniDust_SyarinAwakening's recipe will be unlocked by the research. And you know, with oni of the rim, OX_OniDust_SyarinAwakening is the one that gives pawn two abilities, kaigan and amaterasu. So try it by using it please.

i remove ShinigamiBlessing hediff by character editor.
And oni xeno eat OniDust_ShinigamiBlessing again.
but he can't onidust. (right click onidust show it's can't eat because he's a human)

This is NOT a biotech version of the Oni of the Rim. They borrowed assets of that race mod and used their own twists to make something new.

I've fiddled around using these guys, and it felt nothing like the Oni, and had to play just like regular humans but wit handicaps to crafting and research, which made them even worse than the Oni in those departments.

I actually asked Tarojun back in June about porting/making a Biotech Xenotype of Oni of the Rim, but after they refused I gave up on the idea... I'm glad that they changed their mind, as Oni of the Rim was/is my absolute FAVORITE!

Thank you for your amazing work. Looking forward to playing Rimworld with my favorite, if highly flamable, onis!

I have noticed the horn can be removed and reimplanted, but its currently set to replace:
Head, Skull, Brain, Eye, Ear, Nose, Jaw. Meaning that having anything bionic on your face makes you illegible to get the horn. Could you please have it so it has the install site: head, but no the replace: head?

It wasn't the race mod problem, it was an old method in HAR that dealt with custom thoughts back in 1.0. And potentially the one custom thoughtworker def in the race mod that got immediately removed for 1.5 because it brought nothing to the gameplay overall.

Use the main Oni of the Rim race mod alongside this Biotech expansion mod to get the new Blessings mechanic that bring out the different attributes that changes up what the Oni becomes more specialised in.
