Do you honestly expect to stop a runaway train that got its start on 4chan, of all places?
Besides, outside of the bias many people have against the external appearance of the show, you're talking about a TV series that had more content as far as comics, pre-show lore, and actual story-driven story-telling that many shows between 2010-2020 are missing now. Many fans you interact with now grew up with the 2010s version of MLP, and if they're anything like me and not stone-cold set on the merchandise/watching the show on repeat, then it's just a nice show that had a good 9 year run than spanned many people's childhoods.
Several up and coming internet sensations had their starts/dabbled in the pony community.
TheLivingTombstone, Aviators, BlackGryph0n(Gabriel Brown - AGT Semi-finalist), and VivziePop(animator for Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss) all had dabblings in the MLP fandom.
