I don't have Shogun 2 installed anymore so I can't really check the files myself, but I recall there being a bug in general with new units that sometimes cause their sound to sound like cannons. Try searching this workshop for "Sound Fix" or something like that and try some of them out and see if it helps. :)

Hey, cool mod, the french Eclaireurs gun sound effects seem to be bugged though, instead of sounding like rifles they sound like artillery, the other units sound normal.

@Alpenheim: Hello, not a stupid question at all! Honestly I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure you recruit them in the French, British or American Trading Districts (same as the other international unit). Maybe I also added some sort of technology requirement but I don't think I did. :)

@John: Thank you! You're probably correct but I also saw some pictures depicting them with white pants (could be different units/ranks maybe?) so I went with white pants to make them stand out a bit from the other french unit ingame. :)

A uniform history tip for the French Foreign Legionnaires is that they wore distinctively red pants, especially if you are referencing the ones from the Mexican war. Honestly though I could be wrong - I am going almost solely off of imagery depicting the Battle of Camerone.
