Torches cannot be assigned to hot bar, why?

This is because scrolls have a special way of equipping them. You can equip them in the game with the ctrl key in the inventory, and outside the inventory you call them with the buttons 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0.

I think I found the problem: Everythng works but NOT spells! I always tried to assign scrolls to the quickslot bar but that does not work.

Are you using Marvin mode?

Doesn't work:
o I cannot assign anything in the inventory.
o On the top left of the inventory there seems to be a text but it is only nonsense glyphs. (like unassigned ascii-symbols).
o Also it conflicts with the quickitems I before set to the keys 1 - 8.
