AKM fires an intermediate, but the reason they developed the 5.45 was because the 7.62 was apparently not intermediate enough in terms of control. That's why i said it like that in the description

The XM16 will probably have 18 bullets (due to soldiers not loading them fully), the M16A1 will use the 20 round magazine, except the bipod version which will have the 30 rounds to act as a cheap LMG
