@Pwenage Peanut I'm not sure, would it conflict if it's model changes or even animations? i've tried using a knife chainsaw mod and a leatherface one and both were the same case

Perhaps you have another chainsaw mod that is conflicting with the weapon_chainsaw.txt file?

For some weird reason, everything except the unlimited fuel seems to be here. The extended range and width are there, huge damage is there, but the fuel is like the regular unfortunately

I'm currently developing all the normal melee weapons, but it's mostly a "one size fits all" fix that aims to reduce the number of misses that are clear hits.

That's because for some reason Valve made it impossible to change individual melee weapon ranges, and changing the fire rate doesn't work.

Damage is negligible since all melees one shot commons and deal percent health based damage against specials, which can't be modified.

The only thing left to modify are hitrays, and the direction from which they come from, which seems kinda dumb to me.

Anyways the Pitchfork, I think I will still leave its first vertical attack as is.

All other wonky attacks, such as diagonal slashes are getting removed in favor of horizontal ones.

Believe it or not the Shovel is probably the second best melee in the game, after the aknife.

@Pwnage Peanut Okay. So this is my request: I believe that it’s pretty much unanimous in this community that if there’s one melee weapon that’s in desperate need of a damage and range buff, it’s the Pitchfork. And possibly the Shovel.

I don’t want to force you to if you can’t do it. So, I just wanted to ask you if it was possible for you to do this. Regardless, I hope you have great fun creating mods that you set your mind to!

it didnt work for me when i picked up the chainsaw it was on empty and i only gpt to use it for 1 min before it stopped working

I can try, but the mechanics of a normal melee weapon are more complicated than a normal gun so I can't make any guarantees.

I know, that's why I said personally. Just leaving my opinion, still a good mod that actually makes the chainsaw decent.

It's supposed to be overpowered.

Love this script. Would be better (personally, not generally) without the higher dps and damage resistance, but love everything else.
