-Is your tile 16x24 and in black and white? (#000000 and #ffffff)
-Have you placed your file in a "Textures" folder in the root file of your mod, then set the <tile Path=yourtilehere /> in ChooseYourFighter.xml properly? For example, if the folder structure looks like Textures/Big_Crabbo.png, then the path in the .xml should look like: <tile Path="Big_Crabbo.png" DetailColor="r" />
Kernelmethod also has an example folder for how everything should look here:
https://gitlab.com/kernelmethod/qudmods/-/tree/main/ChooseYourFighter/examples
Here's the page for the "Snapjaw Mages" tutorial:
https://wiki.cavesofqud.com/wiki/Modding:Tutorial_-_Snapjaw_Mages#Creating_a_mod
Follow along up until the "Creating a Mod" section - that'll tell you how to make an offline mod, you won't need to upload it to the Steam Workshop or anything. Once you've done that, follow along Kernelmethod's custom CYF tile guide that I've posted below. That should get you on the right track
https://wiki.cavesofqud.com/wiki/Modding:Tutorial_-_Custom_Player_Tiles
and if you'd like them available with CYF, Kernelmethod has a blurb about adding custom tiles here:
https://gitlab.com/kernelmethod/qudmods/-/tree/main/ChooseYourFighter
And you're also welcome to crack open my mod's files to see how I've managed it. Have a good one
While it may run the risk of repetition, I'm glad that people are still enjoying my silly little pet projects. It makes the hours of fastidious pixel arrangement worthwhile!
I'm running a quality pass over MTKT similar to the one I did with MMT, as I can't help but feel as though I could've done better with these; redesigning some tiles, editing others, to bring them up to my standards. Phylactiate is definitely one I'll be looking at at some point.
Phylactiate, in my head canon, is wearing a cowboy hat in a quickdraw stance. Was that your intent?
@JL06 Regarding another tile mod: Maybe. I'm on hiatus from doing anything Caves of Qud at the moment.
Regarding making custom OC's, I don't mind as long as it's safe for work, and doesn't take liberties that I would consider to be "excessive"; like uploading a settlement mod based on one of my arcologies, for example. (If I ever consider doing something like that, that's something I would like creative control over) Anything else is fine - just don't forget to credit
Will absolutely be using tiles from this mod and other packs in the future. Thanks for putting in the effort. :)
Also the different colours really help with the sorting in the CYF menu
Kutha is a secretive place where the Thin World is studied. Anything that escapes or is stolen is hunted down by the ruthless reclaimers. It's actually inspired by its real life equivalent, an archaeological site in Iraq, the "primary cult center" of Nergal, husband to Ereshkigal.
Terzingtorra is pretty much just Mad Max. This was more of an excuse to make bulkier tiles and tiles that explored cybernetics other than bionic arm and motorised treads.
Hope that was interesting!
here's [wiki.cavesofqud.com] the visual style wiki page
Hope that answered your question!
Hope this helps!
I want to update my characters with treads but I dont know how.
