@not creepy simply go inside the game folders and delete the song you dislike.
@hacker ruso kinda same procedure here. Instead of deleting tracks you can add your own in the music folders

How can I delete single tracks? Great mod and great music, the base soundtrack is awful.

Hey @BlueAuran! The audio files in this mod are lossless. Right out of my software in .wav format. This is why this mod weighs 2+ GB.

Actually I can see that it is 1.1Gb, is it uncompressed already then>? Also there is THIS to compare it with (there are 4-5 of these if you want variety) https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2916197192&searchtext=music YET this one is like 65Mb, so you will have a LARGE quality difference. THIS can be one of the LARGEST FATIGUE factors over time. As with heavily compressed audio YOUR BRAIN has to made up for all the gaps in between essentially, thus promoting tiring. Anyways, just my two cents from much learning. Glad to have this HUGE MOD on the workshop, the quality must be there, or this thing is like 100 tracks.

Yeah, I got bored with it super fast. So was replacing it or using silence. I will DL this now as I have yet to own x4 (have all the rest of the series tho). So this is like an extra bonus for me, only thing better would be lossless eh? Hey let's just see then, anyway to pull that off? We can get 3x the quality for what you are telling me (as along with ALL of the comments) is a pure superb album!

Honestly, considering the limited playerbase of DW2 and therefore small modding community, this mod is incredible. It's not just hugely superior to the base soundtrack, but is a fantastic sci - fi playlist in it's own right.

You can use it mid game. It only replaces in-game music and does not affect your save.

Can you use it mid game or need to start a new one?

I cannot heap enough praise on Nico Guerrero's work here, what a pleasant surprise! Excellent mod that has become the "official" music for the game to me. Slitherine would do well to notice this mod imo

Really could not play without this. Finally encouraged me to turn the music on again. Default is so repetitive - one of the real weak points of the game (still). Awesome job.

You can put whatever music you want. You can find the music folder under your Distant worlds 2 game directory -> data -> music.
You shouldn't mind the "High" "Medium" and "Low" folders in some of the folders. As far as I know they don't really do anything.
Also some of the music folders are ill named. I don't remember which one but I'm sure you'll figure it out.
I do feel you about the eerie and somwhat depressive tracks. If I ever go back to making music for this game I'll keep that in mind.

This is incredible, much more comfortable and interesting to play! I wish there was still some this eerie depressive tracks like in the original game, because vast empty space can be scary
