However, this, Retinue and Merc mods are heavily set-up to be as AI friendly as possible, so if i block it because of the visual bugs that would hurt the AI very much, it's tough.

That's already a huge amount of units, it was pretty crazy (fun for me), and there was no problem in they finding room to spawn, my PC was fine aswell but maybe it could cause lag to others.
But as you said, since the resource is costly and the AI can't spam it very well, it would be insanely rare, yet i also wonder how that would look like.
