@ShyGuySpirit i use this mod in every play through since 1.6. Havent had a single issue with it. it seems to work fine even being outdated.

This is tagged as requiring the nutrient paste expanded mod, but shouldn't that be the Sanguophage expanded mod?

Medical IVs 1.5 also has a plant that also supplements blood, maybe that could be another source for the grinders? Also if the hemogen network could connect to the blood IVs that would make a spiffy integration:
