How do i uninstall this mod?

i cleared by mods folder and unsubscribed from all my mods to fix a bug but i reinstalled the mod and it just doesnt appear

Also it appears that disabling FFT doesn't return the extra rendered ocean to the GPU ocean, it's only changing the area of the ocean within the circle back to the GPU style, having a different color and texture of water outside of the area is just ugly, and defeats the purpose of having extra render distance, until either the FPS issue is fixed or the texturing issue is fixed ill just deal with the GPU ocean.

Having very similar issues to Valkie, Turning off FFT gets rid of any lag, changing all the settings to the lowest available or to "Off" didn't change anything.

No matter if using the absolute best or worst mod settings (yes I clicked 'apply') the FPS stays the same average of 30-40.
Don't know what the culprit is anymore, but it certainly is something to do with the mod or game's code.
Something in this mod is artificially limiting my game's performance without *actually* being graphically intensive.

Wish I could use this mod because it looks amazing, but alas.

Update to my last comment:

Reloaded settings, Ocean has fine FPS with no ships.
Loaded 1 ship, 202m long, basic hull shape, drops fps down to 30 only with FFT Ocean. Disabling FFT fixes problem completely.

Enabling/Disabling wakes drops FPS by another 10. Going to keep on changing settings to find the culprit I guess?

With my Specs (5700X3D, 3070, 48GB 3600MHz) just enabling the FFT ocean drops my FPS from 80 constant down to ~30, Even with no vehicles loaded in. Putting all settings to minimum doesn't change this.

Hey Thunderpanzer, whenever the time is set to between 18 and 6 hour ingame, my ships become completely white. Do you know why this is? its bugging me that i can't really look at my ships during night time

Is there anyway to properly install this mod manually?

Cause I have tried a lot of times to install this over the past week & all have them have failed. I've tried unsubbing & resubbing, deleting the old folder & verifying the game files & still none have worked to get this mod to load/install.

so uh... would anyone happen to know why my water looks... muddy and dark? like even with max water clarity the water looks ink black for me.

the easiest way to disable it imo is by just dragging the mod's folder off of the "documents/from the depths/mods" folder; drag it back in to enable again. You can tweak wave sizes with the vanilla wave scale slider somewhere in the options.

To install you subscribe to the mod, wait for it to download on steam, and open FtD. Then, on the main menu, go to the "content" tab, scroll down to Mods, press "download" and select the mod. Scroll all the way down and click the "save mod in (new) folder ...". Then restart. Assuming everything's fine, it should work. Then the options are in the regular options menu.

I have the menu options for this mod, but the terrain disappears, at least when trying to play Tiny Tank Adventures. I do get an error "computer shaders not set" too.

@exosais try to remove the mod from the documents/ftd/mods folder and try to download it again from the main menu and then launch the game again,if it doesnt work try to also verify game files and try redowloading the mod in the documents folder.

If you are getting an error message, read it :)
If you aren't, go to the discord. Check the logs at documents/from the depths/logs, make sure the mod is actually loading.

a few things to try: Did you delete the mod folder at documents/from the depths/mods or some other mods folder? Did you try enabling the mod from the mod create menu? Are there any errors that appear in the logs (in documents/ftd/logs)? Did you enable the new features in the options menu?

Hi, I just updated the mod and for some reason it will not activate. I've tried deleting the mod folder, restarting the game, my computer, etc. Is there a known fix?

technically they would work, but I purposely disabled them since the new terrain is quite RAM/VRAM intensive in it's current iteration. It will be dealt with.

@Caitlyn I think given it's written they're co dependent because of new terrain heightmap stuff that means there isn't really a way to.

Great mod but i would like an option to use original terrain textures with trees, rather than having to use different terrain textures

Feedback
(Not really- mostly personal ideas, the mod is great right now- And I bet some of those are in the next vegetation iteration so don't let me sidetrack you)

-Increase shadow creation distance.- Default FTD's is far too low- For vehicles, which generally have a surface on the ground, this is no problem. For a tree? That's a major graphical quality difference.

-More tree varieties- Possibly just from color shade changes. Since the human eye clearly notices from a decent distance it's often just two colors, for now.

-Have tree density vary more.- While you nicely avoided clipping and too equal spacing, I think things such as gradients would help.

-Wind effects- (I bet that one you already considered if it's possible or not)

-Tree hitbox- when vehicles are near(?) not necessarily to collide, but so they are felled. Could be a good middleground instead of actual collisions.

To install

Remember to properly go to Content->create tab to erase the mod, then go to documents/from the depths/mods to erase it there too. After that you can download it in content->-download and go to create tab again, reload all mods, and save it to disk. The new terrain has to be toggled on.
